A kit, not a shopping list
Most colour-changing projects fail for the same reason: mismatched parts. This kit removes that risk entirely. You get the LED strip, the matching power supply, the controller and the remote designed to work together out of the box. The strip itself is a CDNLUX RGB LED strip with 5050 RGB chips at 60 LEDs per meter, supplied in a 5 m roll — the length most people are looking for when they search "ruban LED 5m". Because the whole assembly is 24V low voltage, you are working with a friendlier, more forgiving system than line-voltage lighting, which is exactly what you want when the light is going to live inside a cabinet, behind a headboard or under a deck rail.
Real RGB colour from 5050 chips
RGB stands for Red-Green-Blue. Each 5050 chip carries all three colours in a single diode, and the controller mixes them, so a single run can go from warm party tones to deep blue to bright green without swapping anything. At 60 LEDs/m, the dots are close enough together to read as a continuous line of colour in most installations, and closer still once you diffuse it. Pro tip: aim the strip at a surface — a ceiling cove, the back of a shelf, the underside of a stair nose — and let the reflected light do the work. That is how you get a glow instead of a row of visible dots.

Installation and control
Plan the run before you peel anything: measure your surface, decide where the power supply will sit, and keep the controller somewhere you can reach it for the initial pairing. Wipe the mounting surface clean and dry so the adhesive grabs properly; on rough wood, brick or anything outdoors, add mounting clips or an aluminum channel for a permanent, straight line. The RF multi-zone controller and remote use radio frequency rather than line-of-sight infrared, which means the receiver can be tucked behind a cabinet, above a ceiling cove or inside a soffit and still respond — and because it is multi-zone, you can run separate areas (the deck and the pergola, the bar and the back wall) and address them individually from the same remote. Keep the IP67+ power supply accessible for service, and never bury a connection you might need to reach again.
Where it earns its keep
Indoors: cove and tray ceilings, under-cabinet kitchen lighting, toe-kicks, floating shelves, bar fronts, home theatre and gaming rooms, basement stairs. Outdoors and semi-exposed: gazebos, pergolas, covered terraces, patio railings, pool decks, carports and the awning of an RV or trailer. Commercially, it is a fast way to add brand colour to a reception desk, a display case, a restaurant patio or a storefront window, with seasonal colour built right in. For accessories, we recommend pairing the strip with an aluminum profile and diffuser when the run is visible — a very common search in Québec is "profilé aluminium encastrable pour ruban LED" for exactly this reason. No spec sheet or IES file is published for this kit; everything you need is listed on this page, and the included controller and remote mean setup is a same-afternoon job.
