Built small on purpose
The MICRO G4 is a bare-board capsule: a compact uncoated plastic board carrying five surface-mount diodes and two standard bi-pin legs. At 19 mm long (31 mm with pins) x 11 mm wide, it's the format you reach for when a mini G4 still won't clear the housing, the diffuser or the glass shade. There's no bulky glass envelope and no heavy heat sink to fight with, so it slides into narrow puck housings, slim millwork channels and small decorative arms where a halogen capsule used to run hot.
Light quality and colour
Five 5050 SMD LEDs built on Epistar chips spread the output over a full 360-degree beam angle, which is exactly what you want inside a frosted shade or a display case — the light wraps around the capsule instead of firing in one direction. The colour temperature is warm white 3000-3500K, delivering 60 lumens with a soft residential feel. Warm white flatters wood, brass and fabric.

Electrical, dimming and installation
This capsule is a 12V DC product, full stop. Before installing, check what feeds your fixture: if it's a low-voltage LED driver or a DC power supply putting out 12 volts DC, you're good; if the socket is fed by a 12V AC magnetic or electronic transformer, the bulb is not the right match — a DC bulb on an AC circuit will damage the bulb and the fixture, and that damage is excluded from the warranty. Installation itself takes seconds: cut power, pull the old capsule straight out of its G4 socket, and push the two pins of the micro board in. Handle the board by its edges. Because each bulb draws only 0.5 W, you can run a surprising number of them on a modest 12V DC supply — just add up the total wattage of the bulbs and keep it comfortably under the rated output of your power supply, leaving headroom. The bulb is dimmable when your 12V DC circuit includes a compatible low-voltage dimmer or dimming driver; dimming is done on the DC side, not with a standard line-voltage wall dimmer alone.
Where it earns its keep, and documentation
Concrete examples: glass display cabinets and jewellery showcases where heat used to fog the case, under-cabinet puck housings in a kitchen, reading lights in a camper or boat cabin, tiny wall sconces and picture lights, hotel and restaurant millwork, model displays and museum vitrines, plus accent fixtures in condos and basements. It also pairs naturally with other 12 volt low-voltage work on the same project — think indoor LED strip runs in coves and shelving fed by the same DC supply, so your whole accent layer matches in colour temperature. The technical PDF for the LED BULB MICRO G4 12V-DC 0.5 WATT DIMMABLE is available in the Documentation tab; download it to confirm dimensions and colour temperature before you order, and check that warm white matches the rest of your lighting.
