One tape, two jobsAn
RGBW LED strip is not the same thing as a plain colour tape. Here, the red, green and blue colour-mixing diodes sit on the same flexible circuit board as a separate
3000K warm white channel, each driven independently. That matters because colour-mixed "white" from RGB alone always looks a little off — slightly pink, slightly blue, never restful. With a dedicated warm white channel, you get a genuine, comfortable white for reading, cooking and entertaining, then dial in saturated colour for a party, a holiday, a game night or a storefront display. One run, one power feed, two completely different moods, and no second strip to hide in the same cove.
Technical specificationsSKU: LCKIT-45W-RGBW-30K-IP22-10M
Type: RGB-W flexible LED strip starter kit
Length: 10 m
White channel colour temperature: 3000K (warm white)
Ingress protection: IP22 — indoor, dry locations
Control: colour scenes, brightness and transitions adjusted from the included control gear
Mounting: adhesive backing, cuttable at the marked points
Installation done rightPlan the full layout before you peel any adhesive — measure the run, mark where the tape will be cut, and decide where the feed enters. Wipe the mounting surface clean and dry first; dust and grease are the number one reason tape lets go months later. Keep the driver and the controller in an accessible, ventilated spot, never sealed inside a closed soffit you would have to demolish to service. Avoid sharp folds at corners: use corner connectors so the copper traces are not stressed. And always cut only at the marked cut points, otherwise the segment will not light. Mounting the tape on an
aluminum profile or another metal surface is strongly recommended — it spreads heat, protects the diodes and gives the light a cleaner, more finished line.
Where it shinesIn a home, think basement renovation perimeters, bedroom ceiling coves, kitchen toe kicks and upper-cabinet crowns, stair nosings, floating shelves, home bars and headboards. In light-commercial work, it earns its keep on retail shelving, restaurant and hotel bars, reception desks, salon mirrors and display cases where the merchandise needs colour one week and neutral warm white the next. Because this kit is rated
IP22, keep it indoors and dry: for a bathroom splash zone, a covered patio or any exterior run, choose a wet-location rated strip instead of this one.
Choosing your length and companionsTen metres suits a medium to large room perimeter or a long bar front. Shorter jobs — a single cabinet, a niche, a headboard — are better served by the
Starter kit – 5m RGBW LED strip (3000K), while open-concept main floors and commercial runs often call for the
Starter kit – 15m RGBW LED strip (3000K) or the
Starter kit – 20m RGBW LED strip (3000K). For a damp-area project on the same principle, look at the
Shower niche kit: aluminum profile + LED strip + power supply, which pairs a profile, a strip and its power supply in one package. Questions about layout or cut points? Our team is happy to walk through your plan before you order.
