What this part is
The RT05 window trim is the visible faceplate of the RT05 screwless step light system. The light engine does the electrical and optical work inside the wall; the trim closes the opening and gives the fixture its finished face. Sold separately under SKU LS-RT05-WIN-WT, it lets you standardize one engine across a project and choose the face colour room by room — white here, with black and brushed nickel also offered in the RT05 trim colours range. It's also the part you replace on its own if a face gets scratched, painted over or damaged long after the engine is installed.
Fit and finish
Because this trim is machined for the RT05 platform specifically, it matches the RT05 hole cutout of 4-3/4" × 2-7/8" (121 × 73 mm) and the engine footprint of L120 x W74 x H38 mm. That tight tolerance is what gives you a rattle-free, flush-looking result instead of the improvised caulking and filler that mismatched parts require. The screwless face keeps the front surface unbroken — no screw heads, no rust spots, nothing to collect dust at ankle height. The white finish is a neutral tone chosen to sit quietly against painted drywall and white grid ceilings, which is exactly what you want from a step light faceplate: invisible hardware, visible light.

Compatibility and installation
This trim works exclusively with the RT05HV (high voltage) and RT05LV (low voltage) light engines — it is not a universal ring and should not be forced onto other recessed or step fixtures. On the job, rough in the engine to the stated cutout, make your connections with the 12" (30 cm) leads, then present the white window trim to the opening and seat it. With no screws to drive and no alignment slots to fuss over, changing a colour scheme late in a project becomes a five-minute task rather than a re-order. Since the RT05 engine is dimmable and available in 3000K warm white or 4000K natural white, as well as RGB and RGBW, the same white trim covers every version you specify.
Where it earns its keep, and documentation
Stairwells, corridors, basements and walk-out landings in houses; guest-room hallways, elevator lobbies and back-of-house stairs in hotels; aisle and riser lighting in theatres, restaurants and offices — anywhere a low, glare-free recessed step light keeps people safe without flooding the space with light.
