The RT05 is a screwless recessed step light: the faceplate sits flush against the finished surface with no exposed fasteners to catch dust, scuffs or the eye. Because the body is tucked inside the wall cavity, the fixture is protected from foot traffic, luggage, snow shovels and the general abuse a stairwell takes. Overall dimensions are L120 x W74 x H38 mm (L4 11/16 x W2 7/8 x H1 1/2"), and the trim is available in black, brushed nickel and white so it can either vanish into the paint or read as a deliberate architectural detail.
Light quality you can actually see
At 145 lumens and 3000K warm white, the RT05 puts light exactly where it's needed — across the tread, along the nosing, over the first metre of path — without glaring into anyone's eyes. The CRI greater than 90 is the detail that separates this from a basic guide light: oak treads, slate tile, cedar decking and painted risers all keep their real colour instead of going flat and grey. The fixture is dimmable, which matters in home theatres, bedrooms hallways and hospitality corridors where full output is more than you want at 2 a.m.

Wiring and installation
This is the high-voltage version: it connects directly to a 120V AC circuit, so there's no low-voltage transformer to find room for and no extra driver box hiding in the ceiling below. The 12" (30 cm) lead gives an electrician comfortable room to make connections inside a standard single gang junction box, which is the mounting this horizontal model is built around. On new construction, set your boxes at the height you want during framing; on a retrofit, cut to the 4-3/4" × 2-7/8" (121 × 73 mm) opening, pull your feed, land the wires and push the fixture home. Because the unit is dimmable, plan your control at the switch — group a full stair run on one dimmer for an even, continuous wash of light.
Where it earns its keep
With an IP67 rating and a -20°C to +45°C operating range, the RT05 is as comfortable on a covered porch, a deck stair or an exterior entry as it is indoors, which makes it a natural fit for Canadian projects that swing from January cold to August humidity. Typical installs: basement and main staircases, hallway baseboards, home theatre risers, condo corridors, boutique hotel stairwells, restaurant entryways, retail steps and garden walls along a walkway.
