Installation and compatibility
Plan your rough-in around the 4-3/4" × 2-7/8" (121 × 73 mm) cutout and keep the 12" (30 cm) lead accessible in the wall cavity or junction box. On the low-voltage RT05LV, run your 12V AC/DC supply from a remote driver or transformer; on the RT05HV, feed line voltage per the engine's instructions and local code. Once the engine is set and wired, the trim pushes on last — which also means a damaged or paint-splattered trim can be replaced later without pulling the fixture out of the wall. This trim fits the RT05HV and RT05LV engines and nothing else; using a trim from another platform can leave gaps, light leaks and an insecure fit.
