What is a wall washer LED strip?
Most LED strips are meant to be seen as a line of light. A wall washer strip is different: its job is to throw light onto a vertical surface so that the wall itself becomes the light source. The result is a soft, uniform glow that makes a room feel larger, draws the eye to textures and finishes, and replaces harsh spotlights with a calm indirect lighting effect. Washing versus grazing
How you mount the strip changes the effect. Placed close to the wall, the light skims across the surface and brings out the relief of stone, brick, wood slats or textured plaster: this is wall grazing. Set a little farther back from a smooth wall, the light spreads more evenly for a clean wash that suits painted walls, artwork groupings and signage. In both cases, the warm white light creates a welcoming atmosphere in homes, hotels, restaurants and stores.
Installation tips
This strip runs on 24V DC, so plan a 24V DC LED driver sized for the total wattage of your runs at 24W/m, and keep the driver accessible for maintenance. Because it is a high-output strip, mount it in an aluminium profile: the profile helps dissipate heat, keeps the strip straight for a more even wash and hides it from view. Recessed profiles in the ceiling or floor, or a cove detail at the top of the wall, give the most seamless look. With its IP22 rating, keep it in dry indoor locations.

Use this LED wall washer for stone or brick fireplace walls, TV and feature walls, headboard walls, stairwells, entrance halls, hotel lobbies, reception desks, restaurant and bar walls, retail shelving walls, galleries and places of worship. For shelves and cabinets in the same room, a lower-output strip makes a great companion, and for exterior facades or damp areas, a waterproof IP66 strip takes over.
