An aluminum extrusion is more than a cover: made of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy, this profile increases heat dissipation, and using it increases the lifetime of your LED strip. The design aims for uniform light without hot spots, and the opaque lens turns the strip into a continuous, clean line of light rather than a row of bright dots. Installation tips
The profile accepts LED strip lights up to 10 mm (3/8 in) wide. Clean the inside of the channel, apply your strip along the base, then fit the lens into place. The 90 series spec sheet lists two mounting methods, a 45° corner bracket or double-face mounting tape, as well as end caps with or without a hole for the wire; check the Documentation tab to plan your hardware. For the 16 ft length, measure your corner carefully, cut the profile and lens with a fine-tooth saw, then deburr the edges before installing the strip.
