Built for the outdoors, top to bottomThis floodlight starts with a
pressure die-cast aluminum body that acts as one big heat sink: better thermal management means the LEDs run cooler, hold their output and keep their colour consistent season after season. The
polycarbonate lens shields the optics from hail, branches and stray hockey pucks, while the slim and compact area-lighter shape keeps wind load reasonable when the fixture is aimed off a tall pole. Every part of it is meant to live outside: it is
suitable for use in wet locations with
IP65 protection, and it operates from -40 to 45 °C, which is exactly the spread a Canadian site sees between a February cold snap and a July heat wave.
Light you can tune to the siteTwo selectors do the fine-tuning. The
multi-watt selector lets you set 400W, 450W or 500W, for 52000, 58500 or 65000 lumens — dial it back on a compact lot, open it up over a stadium field. The
CCT selector gives you 3000K for a warm ambiance around a clubhouse or a hotel entrance, 4000K for a brighter neutral rendering in a service yard, or 5000K for maximum brightness where security cameras and licence plates matter. Because both selections happen at the fixture, a single model number can be stocked for an entire property and adjusted head by head during commissioning.

Wiring, control and mountingThe
auto-sensing driver accepts a 120-347V supply, so the same fixture can go on a residential-style feed or a commercial three-phase service without ordering a different model — handy for a contractor standardizing across several buildings. The built-in
10KV surge protection device guards against the voltage spikes that come with storms and utility switching on exposed poles.
0-10V dimming lets you drop levels after closing hours through a controller or a time clock, and the fixture also works with photocells, timers and motion sensors for automatic dusk-to-dawn operation. Four
floodlight mounting brackets are sold separately — LCFLD-BRACKET-P for pole mounting, LCFLD-BRACKET-T trunnion, LCFLD-BRACKET-U U-shape and LCFLD-BRACKET-K knuckle — so you can aim the beam precisely and lock it in place.
Where it earns its keep, and what to readThink big surfaces: shopping-centre parking lots, municipal arenas and stadiums, parking garages, car dealership frontages, farm yards, lumber yards, truck courts and industrial building façades. A practical approach is to mount high, tilt slightly downward rather than straight out, and space units evenly so the pools of light overlap and leave no dark gaps for pedestrians or drivers. For the same fixture in a black finish, see the
400-450-500W LED floodlight. The full
technical spec sheet, including the technical drawing and the polar candela chart, is in the Documentation tab — worth downloading before you finalize pole heights and spacing.
