Built to keep water out
The Weatherproof Project Box is made of PVC, a material that doesn't corrode and doesn't mind damp air, splashing or condensation. The lid is fitted with a waterproof sealing band that compresses against the body of the box when the 4 included screws are tightened, creating a continuous seal around the perimeter. Because the screws are captive to the lid rather than a snap-fit latch, you can open the box for service — swapping a controller, re-pairing a remote receiver — and close it back up just as tight. It's a purpose-built outdoor LED controller enclosure, not a repurposed electrical box, so there's nothing sticking into the usable space.

Wiring and installation
The box ships without pre-cut openings on purpose — you decide where the wires go. Mark and drill a hole on each side of the box, pass your low-voltage wires through, then seal both the holes and the wires with silicone. Give the silicone time to cure before you expose the box to rain, and leave a small drip loop in the cable outside the box so water runs away from the entry point rather than along the jacket. Mount the box where it stays accessible: under a soffit, inside a deck frame, behind a stair riser, on the back of a sign box. One useful habit is to coil a little extra wire inside before sealing, so a future controller swap doesn't mean re-cutting your runs.
Where it changes the install
Many outdoor LED strip light setups put the power supply in a garage or basement and the controller right beside it, which means the data or dimming signal has to travel a long way — and RF remotes stop reaching. With the PRJBOX you flip that logic: the controller goes outside, close to the strip, and the longer distance is covered between the power supply and the controller using 14 or 16 gauge wire, depending on the length. Less voltage drop where it matters, better remote range, cleaner colour response on RGB and tunable runs. It's also the standard fix when an outdoor power supply has no built-in compartment for a controller.
Real-world applications
Contractors use it on deck and pergola lighting, fence and retaining-wall accents, under-eave and soffit strip runs, pool and patio lighting, illuminated storefront signage, gazebos, boathouses and seasonal display lighting that has to survive a Canadian February. Homeowners reach for it when a summer project needs to stay out year-round. It belongs in the same toolkit as your LED strip connectors, silicone sealant and weatherproof power supply — a small, inexpensive piece of insurance that keeps the electronics dry and the warranty conversation short. No documentation is listed for this item; the details above cover everything you need to install it.
