Built to hold, not to harm
The Silicone Mounting Bracket for LED Strips is a purpose-made accessory, not a generic clip repurposed from another trade. It's moulded from flexible silicone, a material chosen because it flexes as you push the strip in and then relaxes back around it. That matters with IP67 LED strips: their silicone-coated body is soft, and a rigid metal or hard plastic clip can bite into the coating over time. A silicone-on-silicone grip keeps the strip seated, keeps the waterproof jacket intact and keeps the whole run looking uniform from end to end.

Installation, step by step
Start by dry-fitting your LED strip along the intended path and marking where each bracket will land. With an inside width of 13 mm and an inside height of 4 mm, the bracket is sized for the strip to slide or snap in place, so spacing is the only real decision to make. Space them evenly — about one every half metre when you follow the 10-per-5-metre guideline — and tighten the spacing anywhere gravity works against you: vertical runs, overhead ceiling lines, long spans with no backing surface, and curves where the strip wants to spring back. Fasten each bracket to the surface first, then press the strip in. Working in that order means you never have to fight the strip and the fastener at the same time, and it leaves you free to slide a bracket a few millimetres if a joint or a connector lands in the wrong spot.
Where it makes a visible difference
Under kitchen cabinets, a row of brackets keeps the strip perfectly parallel to the cabinet edge, so the light line reads straight instead of wavy. In a basement or a stairwell, brackets hold the strip tight to the cove or the nosing where double-sided tape typically fails first. In garages, workshops, storage rooms and unheated outbuildings, mechanical fastening is simply the honest answer to Canadian temperature swings — adhesive softens in summer heat and turns brittle in the cold, while a bracket doesn't care. Retail shelving, display cases, bar fronts, reception desks and signage all benefit for the same reason: the strip can be removed and reinstalled during maintenance without destroying a surface or leaving glue residue behind.
Buying and planning tips
Count your brackets before you order: 10 per 5 metre roll is the baseline, and it's worth adding a handful of spares for corners, transitions between surfaces and any section that will be handled often. Because the profile is only 6 mm high overall, the brackets tuck out of sight behind a cabinet lip, a cove or a shelf edge, and they never show up as bright spots in the light line. There is no spec sheet in the Documentation tab for this accessory — the dimensions above are everything you need to plan a clean, professional-looking LED strip lighting installation the first time around.
