Built for permanent LED strip installations
The TH2ST is a double sided thermal tape designed specifically for lighting work, not a general-purpose office tape. It is fully transparent, which matters more than most people expect: on white aluminum profiles, glass shelves, mirrors and light-coloured millwork, you see nothing but the strip itself, no yellow line peeking out along the edges. The roll gives you 30 meters of continuous tape, enough to cover very long runs or several rooms in one project, and the 10 mm width matches the footprint of common LED strips so the adhesive sits under the board from edge to edge.
Thermal performance, not just sticking power
Every LED strip produces heat, and heat is what shortens the life of the diodes. A thick foam tape acts like an insulating blanket and traps that heat against the circuit board. This tape is deliberately thin so heat moves efficiently from the strip into whatever it is mounted on — an aluminum profile, an extrusion, a metal valance, a smooth wood or drywall surface. Better heat exchange means the strip runs cooler, which permits a longer lighting period and steadier output over time. That is exactly why it is the right choice for high-density and higher-output installations where multiple strips run one after the other.

Installation and surface preparation
Adhesion is 90% preparation. Clean the surface before anything else: water alone works for a quick clean, but for best results use a 50:50 to 70:30 isopropyl alcohol and water solution with a lint-free cloth, and degrease oily or greasy surfaces first. Let the surface dry completely. Apply the tape to the back of the strip or the profile first, keeping it straight and centred, then peel the liner progressively as you press the assembly down — this avoids trapped air and lets you correct your line as you go. Press firmly along the whole run. Work on smooth, silky, non-porous surfaces whenever possible; rough, dusty, freshly painted or textured surfaces will always fight you, and in those cases mechanical mounting clips or a channel are the smarter route.
Where it earns its place
Under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, cove and tray ceiling lighting in living rooms, stair nosing and hallway accents, closets, bathroom mirror backlighting, garage and workshop benches on the residential side. On the commercial side: retail display cases and shelving, bar fronts and back bars, restaurant booths, reception desks, office feature walls and signage boxes. It is also the fix for rigid LED bars and aluminum extrusions that arrive with no adhesive backing, and the upgrade for anyone who has already watched a factory-backed strip sag. One roll covers a lot of ground, so keep the extra on the truck for the next service call.
