Four colours on one boardWhat makes an
RGBW LED strip different from a standard RGB tape is the fourth chip: a dedicated white emitter, here at
3500K, running alongside the red, green and blue diodes. That means you don't have to mix R, G and B to fake white — you get a real, stable, high-quality white for working and living, then add colour on top or on its own for mood, branding or holidays. With
120 LEDs per metre and a cut point every
50 mm, the line of light stays tight and uniform, with far less dotting than low-density tapes when you install it behind a diffuser.
Build and light qualityThe tape is built on a
2 oz density white PCB just
12 mm wide, slim enough to slide into most aluminum extrusions, coves and cabinet reveals, and flexible enough to follow curves and corners. Heavier copper helps carry current and manage heat over long runs. The
CRI 90+ rating is the spec that really shows on the wall: countertops, backsplashes, millwork, merchandise and artwork keep their true colour, which is exactly what you want in a kitchen, a retail display or a bathroom mirror niche. The
120° beam angle spreads light wide and washes surfaces evenly rather than throwing a narrow stripe.

Wiring, control and installationPlan the job around a
24V DC power supply sized for the total wattage of your run, plus an RGBW controller or decoder matched to your control method —
DMX, PWM, RF PWM,
0-10V or MLV incandescent dimming are all supported, so the strip can live inside a home automation system or on a simple wall dimmer. The spec sheet includes a connection guide: parallel connections are strongly recommended, and you should never exceed the recommended run length, because the tape will start to dim past that point and will be damaged over time. For one long continuous line, use a middle connection — a feed wire brought to the centre of the run — to keep brightness even end to end. Cut only on the marked 50 mm points, solder or use proper RGBW connectors, clean the surface before applying the 3M tape, and remember this is an
IP22 tape meant for dry, protected indoor locations; a waterproof
IP66 version exists for wet or outdoor-adjacent areas.
Where to use it and what pairs with itThink crown-mould coves in a living room, under-cabinet and toe-kick lighting in a kitchen, a colour-changing wash behind a media wall, stair nosings in a basement, backlit bar shelving in a restaurant, display cases in a boutique or a hotel reception desk that changes colour for events. In the same catalogue family you'll find single-colour and tunable options that share the 24V platform: the
LED strip 19.2W/m 24V 96W 30K IP66 for damp or outdoor-rated runs, the
LED strip 20W/m 24V 100W IP22 (CCT) when you want adjustable white instead of colour, and the
LED strip 14.4W/m 24V 72W (RGB) IP22 for pure colour effects. The full technical PDF (LCLS24V-96W-RGBW35K-IP22 Spec Sheet), including the dimensional drawing and the parallel and middle connection guides, is available in the Documentation tab.
