Built for a straight halogen swap
This is a directional MR16 LED lamp with a GU10 base, the two-pin twist-and-lock cap used in track heads, adjustable recessed trims, display cases and accent fixtures. Because it runs on 120V line voltage, there is no transformer or driver to add: the old halogen comes out, the new lamp goes in with a gentle quarter turn. The compact body — 1.97 in. maximum overall diameter and 2.17 in. maximum overall length — keeps the same visual footprint inside the trim or shade, so nothing protrudes or looks out of place. Efficient thermal management keeps the internal components cool, which protects the diodes and supports its long service life. One important limit: it is not suitable for use in totally enclosed luminaires, so leave the fixture ventilated.

Light quality you can see
The 25° beam angle gives a tight, well-controlled pool of light — ideal for accent and task work, highlighting a painting, a bookcase, a countertop or a shelf of merchandise. At 4000K the light reads clean and neutral white, a favourite for kitchens, bathrooms, retail floors and workspaces where you want detail rather than a yellow glow. With a CRI of 80+, colours stay honest: wood grain, paint finishes, food and fabrics look the way they should. The output is flicker-free for comfortable everyday use, and at 6.5W replacing a 40W incandescent, it adds far less heat to conditioned rooms — a real advantage in tight enclosures and display cases.

Installation and dimming
Always cut power at the breaker first and let the old lamp cool before handling it. Insert the two pins, push gently and give a quarter turn until it locks; avoid touching the lens with bare fingers, since skin oils leave marks that bake on. For a uniform look across a room, replace all the lamps in a fixture group at once so every head shows the same 4000K tone and the same beam spread. The lamp is dimmable with compatible dimmers — check your control against the dimmer manufacturer's compatibility list, and remember that a low minimum load on an old halogen dimmer can cause flicker with a small LED load. Because it is rated for damp locations, it also works in covered entries and ventilated bathroom fixtures.

Think kitchen track heads over an island, gallery-style accent lighting in a hallway, boutique and jewellery display cases, restaurant wall washing, hotel corridors, office reception desks and workshop task spots.
