What an L connector does
Track lighting is usually thought of as a straight line, but many rooms call for something more. The LC6102-BK is an L connector that joins two track sections at a right angle, creating a corner in your track run. It lets one system turn along two walls, frame a feature or wrap around an island, while the track heads can still be positioned and aimed freely on each section.
Designing with corners
Corners open up new layouts. Two L connectors and three sections can form a U around a kitchen work zone; four can outline a rectangle above a dining table, a boardroom table or a retail display. In a gallery or a hallway that turns, an L-shaped connector keeps the light continuous from one wall to the next. Sketch the room from above, draw the track path, then count the sections, corners and fixtures you will need before you order.
Installation tips
Connectors are made for a specific track series, so confirm the profile of your track before choosing parts. Turn off the power at the breaker, lay out the path on the ceiling with a chalk line or a laser, and check that the corner lands square to the walls. Fit the connector between the two track ends as described in the instructions supplied with your track system, then fasten each section securely to the ceiling. Where local codes require it, have the electrical connection made by a licensed electrician.
The black finish
A black track connector is ideal when the track is meant to be seen as part of the design: exposed ceilings, dark-painted ceilings, loft spaces, restaurants and boutiques with an urban feel. Keeping the track, connectors and heads all in black gives a unified, graphic line that follows the room's architecture and looks intentional from every angle.
Where it shines
Use the LC6102-BK to light an L-shaped kitchen counter, wrap a bar with accent light, follow two walls of artwork, or outline a store's front display. In offices and showrooms, a corner in the track lets you light a meeting area and a product wall from the same system. Wherever a straight line is not enough, this track lighting connector lets your lighting take the shape of the space.
