GRIP & CLIP - STRIP TO STRIP RGB CONNECTORS FOR IP20 STRIPS

GRIP & CLIP - STRIP TO STRIP RGB CONNECTORS FOR IP20 STRIPS

SKU: GRPCLP

Brand: LED MONTREAL

Join RGB strip sections in moments, with no soldering iron required. The GRPCLP Grip & Clip strip-to-strip RGB connectors are solderless LED strip connectors made for bare IP20 RGB strips: insert the cut ends, clip them in place, and the colour circuit carries on into the next section. Shoppers look for them as RGB strip connectors, clip-on connectors or LED strip light connectors, and they are the quick fix for re-joining a strip cut to fit, adding a section to extend a run, or repairing a strip that was cut in the wrong spot.

These connectors are built for IP20 strips without silicone coating, because they make contact directly with the pads of the strip. That also sets their limits, and knowing them saves time: they are not compatible with silicone-coated strips, nor with high-density strips that pack many LEDs into each metre. The Grip & Clip is wider than the strip itself, so it will not fit inside an LED profile, and it cannot be connected directly to wires, since it joins strip to strip. Respect those rules and you get a clean RGB strip connection without any soldering.

Use them under kitchen cabinets, along shelves and bookcases, on top of upper cabinets, behind a headboard or a gaming desk, and in retail displays where sections are often adjusted. In every province, homeowners and contractors rely on them with uncoated RGB LED strips for residential and commercial work. For single-colour tape, choose the single-colour version of the Grip & Clip; for a strip installed inside a profile, solder a wire directly to the strip instead. Keep a few on hand and your next LED strip lights project will come together faster.

A solderless joint for bare strips
Grip & Clip connectors are strip-to-strip connectors: they join the end of an RGB section to the start of the next without solder and without any wire in between. They are designed for IP20 LED strips, the bare kind without silicone coating, where the connection pads are exposed and can meet the connector directly. That makes them a natural fit for the uncoated strips installed under cabinets, along shelves and in coves, where speed and simplicity matter most. No soldering station, no heat-shrink and no waiting: the joint is made right where the strip is mounted.

Check your strip first
Before ordering, confirm a few points. Your strip must be an RGB strip with no silicone coating: coated strips are not compatible. It must not be a high-density strip, where the LEDs sit very close together along the tape. The strip must not go inside an LED profile either, because the Grip & Clip is wider than the strip and will not fit in the channel; for a profile installation, solder a wire to the strip instead. Remember too that these connectors join strip to strip only: they cannot be connected directly to wires.

Installation, step by step
Cut the RGB LED strip only on a marked cut line, so the pads are complete on each piece. Open the connector, slide each strip end in with the pads facing the contacts, and keep the colour markings in the same order on each side of the joint. Close the clip firmly, then power the strip and run through the colours with your RGB controller to confirm every channel lights up. If a colour is missing, check the cut and the alignment of the strip in the connector. Secure the strip on each side of the joint so the weight of the tape does not pull on the connector.

Where it saves the day
Under-cabinet lighting that needs another section, a bookcase lit shelf by shelf, a headboard, a gaming setup, a bar back-light or a boutique display reworked every season: Grip & Clip connectors make these jobs quick and clean. They let you reuse offcuts, correct a measuring mistake or extend a run without heating a soldering iron, and they are a smart way to try out a layout before committing to soldered joints. Contractors keep them in the truck for residential and commercial service calls, and do-it-yourselfers love how accessible they make RGB LED strip lighting.
