What it is and how it's built
The QDCCON is a short, solderless jumper lead for single colour LED strip (also called monochrome or single-colour tape light). One end carries a spring-loaded quick connector that clamps directly onto the two copper contact pads of a cut strip; the other end terminates in a female DC connector ready to receive the male DC plug found on most LED drivers, plug-in power supplies and inline dimmers. Between the two sits 17 cm of flexible two-conductor wire. There are no screws to tighten and no iron to heat — which is what makes it so popular with homeowners who don't solder and with contractors who don't want to drag a soldering station up a ladder.
Why you need one
A factory reel of single colour strip normally arrives with a connector at each end, so if you cut it in two, both halves can still be powered. The moment you cut it into three, four or five sections, the middle pieces have bare pads and no way to reach the driver. That's the gap this part fills: clip it on, plug it in, and the orphan section behaves like a brand new strip. It's equally handy when the original lead is too short to reach the transformer, when you need to jump power across a doorway, or when you want to feed a second run from the same supply.

Installation tips
Cut your strip only on the marked cut lines, right between the copper pads, so both contacts stay full width. Wipe away any adhesive residue or silicone from the pads, open the clip, slide the strip in until the pads sit squarely under the metal contacts, then close the clip firmly. Watch polarity: the + and − marks printed on the strip must line up with the corresponding wires of the connector. If the section doesn't light, it's almost always a pad not pushed far enough in, or reversed polarity — reopen, reseat, retry. Always confirm your power supply is sized for the total wattage of every section you're feeding, and keep the DC connection accessible rather than sealed inside a closed cove.
Applications and documentation
Kitchen under-cabinet runs, ceiling coves, stair nosing, closets, pantries, garage workbenches, retail display cases, jewellery and bakery showcases, reception desks, back-bar and signage lighting in bars and restaurants — anywhere a run of LED strip lighting has been split into multiple pieces. Because it's a low-voltage DC accessory, it belongs in dry, protected indoor locations. No spec sheet or IES file is published for this accessory; the details above cover everything the part offers.
