What these connectors do
A LED strip is a printed circuit with copper solder pads every few inches. Traditionally, joining two lengths meant soldering wires onto those pads — slow, messy, and risky on a thin flexible board. The Single Color 8mm LED Strip Quick Connectors replace that step with a spring-loaded clip that presses metal contacts directly onto the copper pads. The result is a mechanical and electrical connection made in a few seconds, repeatable, and reversible if you need to undo it. Because they are designed for single colour LED strips, they carry two conductors only: positive and negative.
Checking the width
Width is everything with strip connectors, and this is where most projects go wrong. The 8 mm version is made only for the 3528 SMD strip, ideally the 60 LED per metre version, and is not compatible with any other type of strip — including COB and SOB tapes. Measure the bare tape (not the silicone sleeve) before ordering, and count the copper pads: a single colour strip shows two pads, which is exactly what this connector is built for.
Installation, step by step
Cut the strip only on the marked cut line, so a full set of copper pads stays on each side. If your strip has a silicone coating, trim it back slightly so the pads are exposed and clean. Lift the clip, slide the tape in copper side down against the contacts, push until it seats fully, then close the clip until it clicks. Respect polarity: the + pad on the strip must meet the + side of the connector, or the section simply will not light. Give the strip a gentle tug to confirm it is locked, then power up and test before you stick anything down permanently. One tip from the field: test the whole run before applying the adhesive backing or closing an aluminum profile — it takes two minutes and saves an hour.

Where they get used
Kitchens are the classic case: under cabinet lighting rarely runs in one straight line, so you cut at each cabinet and rejoin with a connector, keeping every section aligned and dimming together. The longer wired versions of 40 cm, 1 m and 2 m are made exactly for that — jumping over a range hood, a sink or an inside corner without a visible strip. Beyond the kitchen, they serve cove ceilings, stair nosings, closets, headboards, display cases, retail shelving, bar and counter fronts, and signage backlighting in small businesses. For contractors, they also make service calls painless: a damaged section can be cut out and bridged without rewiring the whole run. No documents are listed for this item, so if you are unsure about your strip type, measure the width and count the copper pads before ordering.
Available for 8 mm or 10 mm strips: choose the width you need in the menu above before adding to cart.
