What this controller actually does
An LED strip on its own is a dumb load: it turns on with power and off without it. The Original Mi-Light/MiBoxer Controller sits between the power supply and the tape, receives the signal from a remote or panel, and modulates the output so you get smooth dimming and colour control instead of an all-or-nothing switch. Because the whole MiBoxer family shares the same logic, you choose the model by the type of strip you are feeding: FUT035 for CCT adjustable white (tunable warm-to-cool tape) and FUT037 for RGB strips when you want a pure colour palette with no white channel. FUT039, FUT043, FUT044 and FUT045 round out the family for other strip types.

Electrical and installation notes
Wiring is straightforward for anyone who has already run low-voltage LED tape. The DC power supply feeds the controller input, and the controller output feeds the strip, respecting polarity and the channel order printed on the terminals. Match the supply voltage to the strip voltage — 12V or 24V DC — and size the supply so the load stays within the controller's 6A per channel and 10A total output. On long runs, splitting the installation into zones with more than one controller keeps each one comfortably inside its limits and keeps brightness even from one end to the other. Keep the unit accessible for pairing and out of standing water, and remember its rated working range of -20 to 60°C when you tuck it into a soffit, a cabinet or an unheated space.
Remotes, panels and compatibility
Control is where this family shines. The FUT035 pairs with FUT007 remotes and the B2 panel, so a homeowner can dial warm white for the evening and cool white for cooking or reading. The FUT037 pairs with FUT096 remotes and the B3 panel for RGB scenes. Note that the FUT035 and FUT037 models do not offer signal repeating technology, so plan the position of the receiver with the remote's reach in mind rather than burying it behind metal or deep inside a cabinet carcass.
Where it earns its keep, and documentation
Under-cabinet and toe-kick lighting in kitchens, cove and tray ceiling lighting in living rooms, stair nosings, closet and pantry strips, basement rec rooms, home theatres, bar backs, retail shelving, display cases, reception desks and office millwork — anywhere LED strip lights go, a controller makes them worth the effort. Tunable white is especially appreciated in Canadian homes where short winter days call for a warmer, cozier setting in the evening and a crisper light for daytime tasks. A technical PDF covering the FUT035, FUT039, FUT043 and FUT044 models is available in the Documentation tab of this page — check it before ordering so the model, voltage and output match your strip and your remote.
