Three ways to control, zero hubs
The YL1 is a Mi-Light style multi-zone controller that speaks three languages at once. Use the free app on iOS or Android over Wi-Fi, use a paired RF remote when you want a physical control on the wall or on the coffee table, or simply tap the touch controls on the controller itself when your phone is in another room. That last point matters more than people expect: a guest, an employee or a family member can change the scene without downloading anything. And because the Wi-Fi radio is built into the unit, there is no separate bridge or gateway module to buy, power and hide — one device, one power connection, done.
Multi-zone made simple
Multi-zone means you can split your RGB LED strip installation into separate groups and drive them independently: cove lighting on one zone, toe-kick on another, display shelves on a third. Each zone can hold its own colour and brightness, or you can sync them all for a single sweeping effect using the 16 colour change modes built in. With the cloud function active in the app, those same zones are reachable from any Wi-Fi network, so a shop owner can turn the window display on before opening or a cottage owner can check that the deck lighting is off.

Wiring and installation notes
Installation follows the usual low-voltage logic: a DC power supply feeds the controller, and the controller feeds the strip. Match the supply voltage to your strip — 12V or 24V — and respect the controller's capacity of 3A per channel and Max. 5A total when you calculate your run length; longer runs are best split across zones or fed with additional controllers rather than pushed past the rating. Keep the unit in an accessible, dry spot where the touch pad and the Wi-Fi signal are not buried behind metal, and stay within the 30m communication range for reliable RF and app response. Respect polarity on the RGB output (common anode style four-wire strip) and make your connections before energizing the supply.
Where it earns its keep, and the paperwork
In homes, this is the controller for basement ceiling coves, theatre rooms, headboards, stair accents, bar tops and outdoor-covered patio accents run on low-voltage strip. In commercial work, it handles restaurant soffits, salon mirrors, retail display cases, gym walls and event or trade-show builds where a colour change is part of the experience. Contractors often standardize on one controller model across a project so training the client takes five minutes instead of an hour. The technical PDF spec sheet for the YL1MTL is available in the Documentation tab of this page — download it for the electrical values before you size your power supply and plan your zones.
