THIN LED RECESSED - MOUNTING FRAMES - PF414

SKU: PF414

Brand: LUMIFARO

Getting a clean, professional look with thin LED recessed lighting starts before the light even goes in — it starts with the frame. The PF414 is a mounting frame (plaster frame) made by LUMIFARO for slim recessed downlights, the kind of bracket people also call a rough-in frame, a new-construction frame or simply a pot light frame. You screw it to the joists or the studs before the drywall goes up, the ceiling board comes in around it, and your luminaire encastré lands exactly where the plan says it should — no guessing, no hole saw surprises, no crooked row of lights across a hallway.

This is an accessory for LUMIFARO's ultra-slim LED ceiling lights, so what it gives you is precision and repeatability rather than watts. It positions the fixture cut-out before the ceiling is closed, which matters enormously on a job where a recessed lighting layout has to line up with cabinets, beams, an island or a row of doors. Because the frame is set while the framing is still open, the electrician does the layout once, the drywaller finishes around it, and nobody goes back up a ladder to patch a mis-cut opening. Used with the matching 2-hour fire-rated slim downlight family and its accessories, it belongs to a system designed for both residential and commercial projects. SKU: PF414.

Contractors reach for a frame like this on new builds, basement finishing, condo renovations, offices, clinics, retail spaces and any ceiling where the LED downlight spacing has to look deliberate. Across Canada, where so much work happens on wood-framed ceilings and suspended-drywall commercial builds, laying out the cans at rough-in stage is simply the faster, cleaner way to work. Need to reach a fixture location far from the supply? Pair your installation with the FLP-EX6-CCT 6 ft extension and keep the runs tidy. Plan your ceiling properly the first time — add the PF414 to your rough-in order and let the drywall crew do the rest.

What the PF414 is for
The PF414 is a mounting frame — a plaster frame or rough-in bracket — used with thin LED recessed downlights. Its job is simple and very valuable on site: it fixes the exact position of each recessed light before the ceiling is closed. On a rough-in, the frame is installed between the framing members, the drywall is cut and finished around it, and the slim LED fixture is then installed in a perfectly placed opening. That workflow removes the two things that cost the most time on a lighting layout: measuring twice through a finished ceiling, and repairing an opening that ended up half an inch off.

The fixture family it belongs to
This frame is part of the LUMIFARO thin recessed system, whose slim downlights are 2-hour fire-rated (UL-263, ASTM E119, CAN/ULC S101) and 3CCT selectable — meaning three selectable colour temperatures chosen with a switch on the fixture: 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. The companion 6-inch model FLP6-13W-3CCT-WH-2H runs on 120 volts, draws 13 watts, delivers 1050 lumens, has a 120° beam angle, a CRI greater than 80, a white (WH) finish, measures 7 1/16'' dia. x 1 3/4'' H, requires a 6 5/8'' hole, is IC and airtight, is approved for damp locations and operates from -25° to +45°. Those values describe the fixture, not the frame itself — use them to plan the ceiling opening and the circuit.

Installation and electrical notes
Installation of the slim LED downlights that go with this system is designed to be fast: the cable from the fixture plugs into quick-connect push-in terminals on the junction box, with black, white and green wires to the power supply. The junction box measures 3 3/8'' x 3 3/8'' x 1 1/4''. A word of caution from the manufacturer that is worth repeating: always shut off the electrical current before connecting a LED device, otherwise the driver can be damaged. On dimming, these ultra-slim ceiling lights are dimmable and work with most dimmers; since dimmers are generally rated for a maximum of 150 watts on LED, it is strongly recommended not to exceed 80% of that capacity to avoid flicker at the low end — for example a maximum of 8 six-inch units (120 watts total) or 13 four-inch units (117 watts total) per dimmer.

Where it earns its keep
Think new residential construction, basement and attic conversions, condo and apartment renovations, kitchens with a grid of downlights over an island, corridors where every fixture must line up, plus offices, waiting rooms, clinics, boutiques and small commercial suites. Anywhere a ceiling gets photographed, inspected or simply looked at every day, a rough-in frame is what makes the spacing look intentional. Other accessories listed for this family include the plaster frame PF-614 and the FLP-EX6-CCT 6 ft extension, handy when the junction box sits far from the fixture location.
