What the power feed kit does
The PWF-XTLR supplies power to LED panels that are combined with a surface mount kit. In a suspended ceiling, a panel simply drops into the grid and is fed from above. On a hard ceiling, the panel sits inside a surface mount frame instead, and this kit provides the link between the ceiling electrical box and the fixture, with the wiring fully enclosed from start to finish.
What is included
Inside the box: a universal cover plate that mounts onto a standard octagon box, a straight connector and an angled connector, a length of flexible metal conduit with the supply wires already inside, and the mounting screws. With every component in one package, installers can move from box to fixture quickly and get the same clean result on every panel in the room.
Installation
Fasten the universal cover plate onto the octagon box, run the flexible conduit to the surface mount frame, secure the connectors, then make the connections to the panel driver following the fixture and kit installation instructions. Close the frame and the wiring disappears from view. Always follow your local electrical code and have a licensed electrician make the connections to the circuit. The flexible conduit gives some freedom in positioning the frame relative to the box, which helps when the box is not perfectly centred.
Where it is used
This kit is designed for surface mount lighting projects where a drop ceiling is not available: offices with drywall ceilings, schools, medical and dental clinics, retail stores, restaurants back-of-house, basements, garages and workshops. It is also a smart solution in renovations where the old fixtures were fed from an octagon box and the new LED panels will be mounted in the same locations.
Planning your order
Count one PWF-XTLR for each surface-mounted panel in your layout, alongside the matching surface mount frame for each panel. Ordering the complete set at once keeps the job moving and gives every fixture the same clean, enclosed power connection.
