Built to aim, built to blend in
The strength of this gimbal recessed LED fixture is right in its name: the light head pivots inside the trim so you decide where the beam lands. Fixed pot lights wash the floor; a gimbal lets you graze a stone wall, pull a painting out of the shadows, light the front of a closet or correct the angle on a sloped or cathedral ceiling. Combined with its compact 85mm format, it disappears into the ceiling and leaves the attention on what you're lighting — exactly what people are after when they search for éclairage led encastré résidentiel or a discreet recessed LED downlight for a renovation.
Five whites, one switch
Colour temperature is where this fixture earns its keep. A single unit covers 2700K (halogen white), 3000K (warm white), 3500K (soft white), 4000K (natural white) and 5000K (daylight white). The selection is made on the CCT switch located on the included junction box, before or after the fixture goes up. Warm tones (2700K–3000K) flatter wood, brick and bedrooms; 3500K is the easy middle ground for open-concept living spaces; 4000K reads clean and modern against stainless steel, quartz and white cabinetry; 5000K gives that crisp daylight feel people want in basements, workshops, garages and task areas. Same fixture, five completely different atmospheres.

Installation and what's included
The fixture ships with its junction box, which is where both the wiring connections and the colour selector live. Practically speaking, that means you prepare your 85mm opening, make your connections in the box, set the CCT switch to the tone the client wants, and tuck the fixture into the ceiling. Nothing to order separately to change the white, nothing to take back down if the decor changes later — you pop the fixture out, flip the switch and reinstall. As always with recessed work in Canada, respect your local electrical code and have the connections done by a qualified electrician; in finished ceilings, plan your spacing before you cut so the beams overlap evenly across a hallway, an island or a display wall.
Where it makes sense
Think kitchens with an island and a backsplash worth showing off, hallways that need even, glare-free coverage, bedrooms where you'd rather tilt the light away from the bed, finished basements, home offices, stairwells, and condo ceilings where depth is tight and a compact 8W unit is welcome. On the commercial side, it's a natural for boutique shelving, café counters, salon stations, clinic corridors and small office suites — anywhere a contractor wants one product line that covers multiple colour temperatures across an entire floor. Carrying one 5CCT recessed fixture instead of five separate models is the kind of decision that keeps a job moving. Questions about quantities, spacing or how it fits your ceiling build-up?
