Built for cabinets, shelves and millwork
This 80mm downlight LED puck from LED MONTREAL is a professional-grade round fixture designed to disappear into the surface it lights. Recess it into the underside of an upper cabinet, a bookshelf, a display case top or a custom furniture panel, and only the trim shows. When cutting is not an option — a thin shelf, a stone underside, a finished panel you would rather not touch — the optional mounting ring turns the same puck into a clean surface-mounted disc. That dual approach is why cabinetmakers keep a box of them on the truck: one fixture, two installation methods, the same look from job to job.
Three whites, one switch
The CCT adjustable function gives you three shades of white from a single unit: 3000K warm white for a cozy, traditional kitchen; 4000K natural white for a clean, neutral working light; and 6000K cool white for a crisp, modern or display-oriented feel. You simply flip the colour switch located under the trim — no tools, no rewiring, no ordering a second set of fixtures. Change your countertops, your backsplash or your cabinet finish five years from now and your lighting adapts in minutes. The interchangeable trims work the same way: keep the standard white trim, or fit a chrome trim so the puck matches stainless appliances and modern hardware.

Wiring and installation notes
Because this is a 24V low-voltage fixture, it must be powered by a 24V DC LED driver sized for the total load of your run — add up 3W per puck and leave yourself some headroom. Low voltage means small-gauge wire you can staple discreetly through the back of cabinets, drill through shelf gables, and route without the bulk of line-voltage cable. Plan your cut-outs before assembly whenever you can: mark the centre line under each cabinet, keep the pucks evenly spaced so the pools of light overlap on the counter, and feed the wiring toward a common corner where the driver can live in a base cabinet or a ventilated cavity. Always confirm your installation with the Canadian Electrical Code and your local inspector for commercial work.
Where it earns its keep
Under-cabinet task lighting is the classic use, but these pucks show up everywhere: glass display cabinets in a boutique, bakery and deli cases, jewellery counters, reception desks, wine cellars, walk-in closets, bookcases and media walls, and the custom furniture built in cabinet shops across the country. Mixed with LED strip lighting on the same 24V system, they let you combine a soft continuous wash along a shelf edge with crisp downward pools exactly where someone chops, reads or shops.
