One section spans 96 in (2,438 mm), a great fit for long rooms and wide walls with fewer joints overhead. It is an extruded aluminum track whose flat, solid integral conductors are rated for 20 amps, and its copper electrical conductors are concealed in an insulating thermoplastic, low-profile cross-section. Built for 120V applications, the single-circuit system carries an electrical rating of 20A, 120V, 60Hz, and a polarity groove on the face of the track shows the location of the grounding conductor so connectors and heads go in the right way. This 8-foot white track is made of extruded aluminum with a profile of 21 mm by 35 mm. PVC insulators hold its 12 gauge flat conductor wiring, while the copper electrical conductors are concealed in an insulating thermoplastic, low-profile cross-section. On the face of the track, a polarity groove indicates the location of the grounding conductor, so installers can orient feeds, connectors and fixtures at a glance. In white, the rail nearly vanishes against drywall ceilings and lets the light itself take centre stage.

Wiring and power
Track lighting is a single circuit electrical distribution system designed to supply power to lighting units in flexible ways. This single-circuit track is available for 120V applications, with single hot and neutral conductors rated for 20 amps per branch circuit and a system electrical rating of 20A, 120V, 60Hz. Depending on where your junction box sits, power can come from a live-end at the end of the track (with or without canopy), from a center feed anywhere along the track with its canopy cover, from a live-end conduit feed for top or end feed, or from a receptacle through a wired-end. Turn off the breaker and have a licensed electrician make the connection according to the electrical code in your province.

Building a complete system
These tracks can be joined together using any of the compatible track connectors: I-connector for two sections at 180°, L-connector for two sections at 90°, T-connector for three sections at 90°, X-connector for four sections at 90° and flexible connector for two sections at varying angles. An end cap tidies the end of the run, and a hollow stem rod kit, with ceiling canopy, mounting brackets and hardware, lets you suspend the track from the ceiling. Accessories are not included. To adjust the length in the same colour, pair it with the 2-foot track in white; the same 8-foot section also exists as an 8-foot track in brushed nickel or an 8-foot track in silver.
