The easy fix for oversized ceiling holesSlim LED recessed lights are thinner and often have a smaller trim than the old cans they replace. The SLM6P-XLRING-WH is an extra-large round ring that fits around a 6" round SlimLED Plus fixture and hides the gap between the fixture and a hole that was cut wider. You get a tidy, even border instead of damaged drywall. It is equally useful on a new build when a hole was cut too big by mistake or with a slightly irregular edge.
Construction and white finishThe body is stamped steel for rigidity, so the ring stays flat and does not bend when pressed against the ceiling. It is finished with UV-stabilized white paint to match compatible fixtures, which keeps the ring's colour consistent with the light itself and with a white painted ceiling. A silicone gasket is included so the fixture keeps its wet location rating after the ring is added, which matters in showers, humid bathrooms, laundry rooms and exterior soffits.
Compatible fixturesThis ring is designed for the 6" round slim recessed fixtures of the SlimLED Plus family, including SlimLED Plus DTW and SlimLED OnCloud, and for the round 6" SKYE and SKYE OnCloud fixtures. A typical pairing is the
SlimLED Plus 6" LED slim recessed light in white. Choose the ring size that matches your fixture: a smaller version exists for the smaller size of these slim lights.
How to install itTurn off the power at the breaker, connect the slim recessed light as you normally would, then place the XL ring around the fixture before pushing it up into the opening. The ring is held between the fixture's trim and the ceiling surface. If the light goes in a wet area, check that the silicone gasket is seated evenly all around. Everything is done from below, so the ring adds only a moment to each installation and can save hours of repair work.
Where it is most usefulUse it in basement finishing, kitchen and bathroom renovations, condo upgrades and commercial retrofits where old cans are being replaced by slim LED pot lights. White is the most discreet choice on a standard white ceiling, letting the light blend in while the room gets a fresh, modern look.
