Built like site equipment, not a toyThe TL-EMRM platform is built around a
steel housing with a
UL-94V-0 flame rating, fire-resistant by design — exactly what you want from a device that has to survive years on a wall and still perform on the worst day. The face carries a
test switch and a charge indicator light, so the required function tests take seconds and anyone doing building maintenance can confirm at a glance that the pack is charging. Mounting is
wall mount, and the unit is
remote capable, meaning additional remote heads can be wired back to the same battery pack instead of installing several separate units along a corridor.
Power, battery and run timeThis SKU is the
72W, 12VDC version of the family, powered by a sealed lead-acid battery and supplying an
emergency run time of 30 minutes at maximum load. The manufacturer's runtime chart for this model shows that as the connected load drops, the run time extends: 72W at 30 minutes, 36W at 60 minutes, 24W at 90 minutes and 18W at 120 minutes. Two important notes from the spec sheet: actual wattage loads may be affected by the length and gauge of the wire runs used to connect the remote heads, and it is recommended to load battery packs 20% under their maximum load. Sizing with that margin is the easiest way to guarantee full performance years down the road.

Wiring, voltage and installationThe dual
120/347V input is the feature contractors appreciate most in Canada: the same unit lands on a standard 120V branch circuit in a condo or store, or on the 347V distribution found in schools, warehouses and institutional buildings. That means fewer models to carry on the truck and fewer sizing mistakes on a multi-building job. Installation should always be performed by a qualified electrician, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and local authority requirements. Keep the unit indoors — it is
IP20 and damp location rated, not an outdoor device — and respect the 5˚C ~ +35˚C operating range, which rules out unheated garages and exposed loading docks in a Québec or Prairie winter.
Where it works, and what pairs with itThink corridors and stairwells in multi-residential buildings, retail sales floors, restaurant kitchens and dining rooms, office suites, clinics, schools, small warehouses and shops. If your load calculation comes out higher or lower than 72W, the same family offers the
34W 6VDC unit, the
95W 12VDC pack, the
144W 24VDC pack and the
320W 24VDC pack — all with the same 120/347V input and 30-minute run time at maximum load.
