Built like a tool, not a toyThe TL Series metal battery pack starts with a
steel housing rated UL-94V-0 for flame resistance, a detail that matters when the device is expected to survive the very emergency it was installed for. The compact rectangular enclosure measures 11.81" × 2.95" × 9.72" and mounts flat to the wall, with the two 5W LED heads riding on top so they can be aimed down a corridor, across a stair landing or toward an exit door. A test switch and a charge indicator light sit on the face of the unit, so the monthly push-to-test and the annual verification take seconds rather than a service call.
Light quality and run timeThe two supplied
LED heads deliver 6500K light — a cold, high-contrast white that reads as "emergency" and makes floor edges, handrails and signage pop when ambient lighting is gone. The pack is rated 34W maximum output at 6VDC and holds a full 30 minutes of run time at that maximum load. The published runtime chart lets you plan lighter configurations: 17W at 60 minutes and 11W at 90 minutes. Turolight recommends loading the battery pack 20% under its maximum load, and notes that actual wattage loads may be affected by the length and gauge of the wire runs used to connect remote heads — worth remembering before you extend far down a hallway.

Installation and compatibilityThe dual-input design accepts both
120V and 347V, which means the same catalogue number works in a residential basement panel situation and in a commercial 347V building — one less SKU to stock on the truck. The 3 ft cord version simplifies connection where a receptacle is already in place. Because the unit is
remote capable, additional remote heads can be wired back to the pack as long as the total load stays within the 34W budget and, ideally, 20% below it. Keep the unit indoors: it is IP20 and damp location rated only, so parking garages exposed to weather, canopies and true outdoor walls call for a different solution. Respect the 5˚C to +35˚C operating range when choosing a mechanical room or unheated storage location.
Where it earns its keep — and what else to look atThink small offices, dental and medical clinics, daycares, restaurants, boutique retail, condo corridors and stairwells, church halls and compact warehouses: places where a 34W emergency budget with two heads covers the egress path neatly. For bigger footprints or long runs with several remote heads, the same family scales up — see the
metal battery pack 144W 24VDC and the
metal battery pack 320W 24VDC, or the hard-wired version of this same unit, the
34W LED emergency fixture. The full technical
spec sheet, including the dimensional drawing, the ordering guide and the complete emergency runtime chart, is available in the Documentation tab of this page.
