Built for wet, cold and demanding locationsThe TL-EM003-3W-WL is built around an injection-molded thermoplastic housing in white, a material choice that shrugs off humidity, condensation and washdown spray far better than painted steel. The housing carries a
UL-94V-0 flame rating and is fire-retardant, an important detail for a device that must keep working during a building emergency. The complete unit is
IP65 rated and wet location listed, and it operates from -20˚C to +40˚C, which covers unheated Canadian garages, docks and exterior soffits through a full winter. The single head rotates on its base and tilts up or down, so the beam can be re-aimed after installation without touching the wiring.
Light quality and beam controlThis model produces 165 initial delivered lumens from a single 3W LED head at 6500K. That cool, daylight-white tone is the standard look for
emergency egress lighting because it contrasts strongly with normal warm interior light and immediately signals "this is the emergency path." A CRI of 82 keeps exit signage, floor striping and stair nosings readable rather than washed out, while the 25° beam angle concentrates the output into a defined pool of light — ideal for lighting a doorway, a stair run or a stretch of corridor rather than spilling light everywhere.

Wiring and installationInstallation follows the standard
remote head sequence: make the wire connections first, observing polarity where required, and connect the lamp to the DC supply wires — positive and negative are identified with labels on each wire when indicated. Mount the canopy to the junction box with mounting screws (not included), install the lamp gently so the pins aren't broken, then apply power. To aim the head, loosen the set nut on the base under the canopy just enough to rotate it, then tighten gently; over-tightening can break the head's feet and affect performance. Tilt is set by hand. Because the input is 6-24 VDC, this head is designed to run from the remote-capable DC output of an emergency battery unit rather than from line voltage — always confirm the battery unit's remote capacity before adding heads, and have the work done by qualified personnel.
Applications, compatible products and documentationTypical jobs include exterior service doors, covered loading bays, parkades, warehouse aisles, stairwells, apartment and condo corridors, commercial kitchens, car washes and pump rooms — anywhere a code-required egress path is exposed to moisture or cold. On larger layouts, mix formats from the same family: the
double wet location remote head 2x3W covers two directions from one box, while the
2W single emergency remote head, the
1x5W single remote head and the
1x7W single remote head let you match output to ceiling height and spacing. The full technical PDF spec sheet, including the dimensional drawing, ordering table and installation instructions, is available in the Documentation tab.
