Built like a piece of equipment, not a plastic boxThe TL-EMRM platform uses a
steel housing with a UL-94V-0 flame rating, a fire-resistant construction that inspectors and facility managers like to see in mechanical rooms, service corridors and back-of-house areas. The enclosure is
IP20 and damp location rated, sized at 13.90”×3.11” ×13.40”, and is designed for wall mounting. Inside sits a sealed lead-acid battery — 24V on this model — along with the charging electronics. On the face you get a
test switch and a charge indicator light, the two things you actually touch during monthly and annual code testing. This unit is not intended for outdoor use, and its operating temperature range is 5˚C ~ +35˚C, so plan for a conditioned indoor location.
Emergency capacity and run timeThe 144W rating is a load budget, not a fixed draw. At maximum load the pack supports
144W for 30 minutes. Reduce the load and the autonomy climbs: 67W for 60 minutes, 48W for 90 minutes and 36W for 120 minutes. The same chart expressed in heads is handy on site — at 30 minutes you can run 67 heads of 2W or 26 heads of 5W; at 60 minutes, 31 heads of 2W or 12 of 5W; at 90 minutes, 19 of 2W or 7 of 5W; at 120 minutes, 13 of 2W or 5 of 5W. Two important notes from the manufacturer: actual wattage loads may be affected by the length and gauge of the wire runs used to connect the remote heads, and it is recommended to load the battery pack 20% under its maximum load. Follow that rule and your
emergency lighting will still perform years down the road.

Wiring, installation and compatibilityThe
dual 120/347V input is the feature that saves projects: one model covers a 120V branch circuit in a small business or condo corridor and a 347V feed in an industrial or institutional building, so you don't have to re-spec mid-job. The unit is remote capable, meaning the two supplied 5W heads can be mounted on the pack or fed out to remote heads placed where the egress path actually needs light — over exit doors, at stair landings, at changes of direction. Because voltage drop on long DC runs eats into your load budget, size the conductor gauge generously and keep runs as short as the layout allows. Installation must be done by a qualified electrician according to local code, and the unit should be commissioned and tested with the on-board test switch once mounted.
Applications, family and documentationThink warehouse aisles, machine shops, school corridors, clinics, restaurant back-of-house, retail sales floors, office suites, stairwell towers and underground parking access rooms — anywhere the fire code demands lit egress for 30 minutes. If 144W is more or less than your load calculation calls for, the same steel platform is offered in other capacities: the
320W 24VDC battery pack for large floor plates, the
95W 12VDC battery pack and the
72W 12VDC battery pack for mid-size zones, and the
34W steel battery unit with 3 ft cord for small spaces. The full
