Built for sign cabinets
These RGBW LED modules are purpose-designed for lightboxes, illuminated signs and advertising panels rather than general room lighting. Each module carries high-output 5050 LEDs under a clear 160° optic lens, and that wide spread is the whole point: in a cabinet with a depth of 8 to 20 cm, the light from neighbouring modules overlaps before it reaches the face, so the sign reads as one even glow instead of a row of bright dots. The housing measures 87 x 17.5 x 8.4 mm — only 8.4 mm thick — which leaves room for your wiring and lets you mount modules flat against the back panel of a shallow LED lightbox. Modules come 20 pcs per string, and the bag holds 50 units.
Colour and light quality
RGB-W means four channels in one package: red, green and blue for colour mixing, plus a dedicated white chip so you get true, clean white instead of a washed-out mix. Rated luminous flux is R6 G22 B5 W20 and CRI is ≥75, which is right in line with what signage and backlit graphics need — bright, saturated, readable. In practice this lets a single installation do double duty: full colour or colour-changing effects for seasonal campaigns and attention-grabbing storefronts, then straight white light for clear day-to-day legibility of letters, logos and menu boards.

Electrical and installation notes
Because the modules run on constant voltage 12V, wiring is straightforward: feed the string from a DC12 power supply and keep your total wattage within the supply's rating, counting 0.96 W per module. Modules are supplied 20 pcs per string, so plan your layout string by string and space rows according to your cabinet depth — deeper boxes tolerate wider spacing, shallow boxes need rows closer together to avoid shadowing. Colour control requires an RGBW controller compatible with constant voltage 12V outputs. The IP65 protection grade gives real peace of mind for outdoor cabinets, canopy signs and any enclosure where condensation or water ingress is a risk, and the -25 to +60 °C working range covers Canadian winters and summer sun on a south-facing facade.
Applications and documentation
You will find these 12V sign modules behind backlit channel letters, pylon signs, drive-thru menu boards, acrylic logo panels, display cases and directional signage in airports, metro stations, banks, office buildings and shopping malls. They are equally at home in smaller retail work: a bakery storefront, a clinic sign, a bar's backlit bottle display or a trade-show booth that needs to change colour between shows. The Documentation tab holds the technical spec sheet for LCMOD3-RGBW-1W-12V, including the dimensional drawing and the product wiring diagram — worth printing before you start laying out a cabinet.
