Built to stay out of the wayThe whole point of this
black rocker switch is discretion. The dark face blends into black melamine, walnut and stained oak millwork, matte black panels, aluminum profiles and equipment housings, so the control reads as part of the cabinetry instead of an afterthought stuck on the side. The rocker itself gives a firm, tactile press — no guessing, no half-states — which matters in closets, cabinets and service areas where the strip isn't always in your line of sight when you operate it. With no display, no indicator to burn out and no electronics to configure, it's the kind of accessory installers reach for again and again on
LED strip lighting jobs.
Electrical and installationThis is a
low-voltage ON/OFF switch for 12V and 24V DC circuits, so it belongs on the secondary side of your LED driver or power supply, between the driver output and the strip. Keep polarity consistent, interrupt the same conductor throughout the run, and make your connections mechanically sound — solder-and-shrink or a quality low-voltage connector — because vibration and cabinet slams are what kill strip installations, not the LEDs. On longer runs, keep the switch close to the driver rather than at the far end of the tape to minimize voltage drop along the circuit. Always confirm the current draw of your strip against the rating of the control you choose, and follow the Canadian Electrical Code and local requirements for the low-voltage wiring method in your installation.

Voltage: 12/24V
Finish: black
Application: residential and commercial projects
Compatibility with your strip systemBecause it's a plain on/off device on a
12/24V circuit, it plays nicely with the rest of the low-voltage family. Use it as the master kill for a zone controlled by the
4 zone W24 wall controller – RGB/RGBW or the
4 zone W21 wall controller – white, pair it with a
Sensor blue touch 12/24V 3A for cabinet-level touch control, or let a
Door opening detector 12V-24V handle automatic pantry and wardrobe lighting while this
manual switch stays as the override. When a run gets long enough to need re-injection, a
4-channel 20A amplifier keeps colour and brightness even end to end. Same function, different look? See the
Black switch – ON/OFF – 12/24V.
Where it earns its keepKitchen renovations are the classic case: one rocker under the upper cabinets for the task lighting, independent of the room's main circuit. Beyond that, think garage workbenches and tool walls, basement bars, home theatre riser lighting, mudroom benches, walk-in closets and dressing rooms, retail display cases and shelving, reception counters, hospitality millwork, trade-show booths, and RV, trailer and marine cabinetry where
12/24V DC is already the standard. Small businesses love it for backlit signage and display shelves that need to be shut off at close without touching the panel. There is no spec sheet in the Documentation tab for this accessory, so check your strip and driver documentation for load and wiring details, and don't hesitate to ask if you're unsure which control suits your run.
