What a T connector doesMost rooms are not a single straight line, and your
track lighting does not have to be either. A
T connector for track joins three lengths of rail in the shape of a T: the main run continues in a straight line while a third section branches off to the side. With it, one layout can light two zones at once, follow the shape of an open-concept space, or reach an alcove, a display wall or an island without adding a second, separate track. It is designed for residential and commercial projects, from a family kitchen to a retail floor.
Planning a branched layoutDraw the layout on a floor plan first. Mark the main run, then the point where the branch must leave it: that junction is where the T connector goes. Count the sections needed for each arm, and plan the ends of the layout with the right end connector or the end connector and track plate from the same LCTC family. Think about the heads too: a branch is often the perfect place for a few
track light heads aimed at a painting, a shelf or a counter. If you are adding a branch to an existing track, first confirm that this connector suits that
track profile, since parts from different systems rarely fit together.
Installation adviceTurn the power off at the breaker before any work. Join the three sections at the connector and check that every joint is firm and square before fastening the track to the ceiling according to your system's instructions. Take your time on alignment: on a branched layout, a slightly crooked arm shows immediately. For the connection to the electrical supply, rely on a
licensed electrician if you are not comfortable doing it yourself; in
commercial spaces, it is the norm.
Versions and applicationsThis T connector is also offered as
T connector for track LCTC-T-6103-BN,
T connector for track LCTC-T-6103-SL and LCTC-T-6103-WH. In a restaurant, a main run over the bar can branch toward the dining room; in a
retail store, a central aisle can branch over a feature display; in a gallery, a branch can reach a niche; at home, a kitchen run can branch over the island or toward the breakfast nook.
