The SKYE Select trim is made of durable dead-front plastic with a magnetic steel ring. That magnetic ring is the whole trick: the trim magnetically attaches to compatible 4" SKYE fixtures, holds itself flat against the ceiling and comes off just as easily when you want to change the look or access the fixture. There is no screwing, no adhesive and no risk of chewing up a freshly painted ceiling.
