The 12 W LED module delivers up to 90 lumens per watt with a 5-step colour selectable switch: 2700 K, 3000 K, 3500 K, 4000 K and 5000 K, producing 900 lm at 2700 K, 915 lm at 3000 K, 960 lm at 3500 K, 975 lm at 4000 K and 980 lm at 5000 K. A typical CRI of 95 renders skin tones, wood and paint colours beautifully, while the white PMMA diffuser lens and 75° beam spread keep glare down. The durable airtight aluminum body carries UV-stable paint and a silicone gasket, so the fixture is rated for wet locations, outdoor applications and insulated ceilings (tested with insulation up to R60). The SKYE 4" is engineered around a durable airtight aluminum body finished in UV-stable paint, with a white PMMA diffuser lens that softens the source for a low-glare ceiling. A silicone gasket seals the assembly, which is why this 4 inch recessed downlight is approved for wet locations, outdoor use and direct contact with insulation — it has been tested with insulation up to R60. The included white interchangeable magnetic trim snaps on and off in seconds, so the finish of the ceiling can change without ever touching the wiring. Overall dimensions are 4¾" (121 mm) with a 2 3⁄8" (60 mm) depth profile and a 4 5⁄16" (109 mm) reference, keeping the fixture at home in tight plenums and shallow ceiling cavities.

Wiring and installation
The extruded aluminum hardwire box houses a dimmable class II electronic LED driver (210mA, 300mA or 370mA) with 100-135V AC input, and an 18" plenum-rated FT6 wire with a DC 2.1 connector links driver to fixture. Quick-connect push-in terminals make the feed and the daisy-chain fast, and two spring-loaded clips hold the housing to any ceiling material. Dimming is 100 %-10 % with industry-standard TRIAC/ELV controls, and a start-up temperature of -40°C (-40°F) means garages, porches and unheated entries fire up in a Canadian January. For spray foam and loose fill installations, a vapour barrier extender is recommended.
