860 CFM of airflow
With 860 CFM, this is the model to consider for wide ranges and gas cooktops, frequent high-heat cooking and large family meals. The 3-speed push button control keeps things simple: low speed at 0.7 sones for simmering and everyday cooking, high speed at 9.0 sones when the kitchen fills with smoke. Air is evacuated through a 6" round vertical vent exhaust, to be ducted outdoors. Strong ventilation also protects cabinets, walls and ceilings from grease buildup over time.
Baffle filters and LED lighting
The included stainless steel baffle filters force the air to change direction, which separates grease before it reaches the duct. They are sturdy and easy to remove for cleaning, a real plus for anyone looking for low-maintenance range hood filters. Two 5W LED bulbs are included to light the cooking surface; LED lighting stays cool and uses far less energy than old halogen bulbs.
Installation tips
The required opening is 14 5/8" x 33 5/8" and the unit weighs 37 lbs, so plan a solid enclosure. Connect and test the hood before final installation. Remove the protective adhesive strip on the exhaust flaps, never install the duct so tightly that the flaps cannot open, and use duct tape rather than screws on the hood outlet. To check the flaps, run the hood for 30 seconds, turn it off, and after 2 or 3 seconds you should hear them close one after the other. Installation by a qualified installer is recommended; problems caused by improper installation are not covered by the warranty.
