Built to hold, protect and finish your LED tapeThe
LS-LL9-L2 is a 2-metre
aluminum LED channel supplied with its frosted cover. Aluminum extrusions like this one do three jobs at once: they keep the tape perfectly straight over long runs so the light line never wanders, they shield the flexible circuit from knocks, dust and cleaning cloths, and they act as a heat sink that draws warmth away from the diodes. That last point matters more than most people expect — LED tape that runs cooler holds its brightness and colour longer, which is exactly what you want above a kitchen counter or inside a display case you don't want to service every year. The
frosted diffuser snaps over the top and does the visual work, blending the individual emitters into one continuous ribbon of light.

Light quality and what the frosted lens changesA clear lens transmits a little more raw output but shows every single diode, and on a long cove that reads as a row of bright dots. The frosted cover on the LL9 scatters the beam so the eye sees a soft, even glow instead. Combined with a high-CRI tape, the result is flattering light on wood grain, stone counters, fabric and merchandise. It also cuts glare at eye level, which is why frosted channels are the standard choice for under-cabinet lighting, open shelving, stair lighting and any application mounted below sightline. For the smoothest possible line, choose a tape with a tight LED spacing — the
2835 and
3528 families listed as compatible cover both economical long-run and denser options.
Wiring and installationPlan your layout first: measure the run, decide where the driver and feed wire will land, and confirm the tape's cut increments fall where you need them. The LL9 profile calls for a
production lead or solder connection rather than a solderless clip, so pre-wire your leads at the bench before mounting — it's faster and far tidier than working overhead. Mount the extrusion with screws or clips to cabinet undersides, cove ledges, millwork returns or stair stringers, lay the tape in the
3/8" (10mm) channel with its adhesive backing, then snap the frosted lens on. Butt multiple 2M lengths end to end for longer runs, and always size your low-voltage driver to the total wattage of the tape you install, respecting the manufacturer's maximum run length for that tape.
Applications, pairings and documentationKitchens and bathrooms in renovation projects, basement and bedroom cove ceilings, closets and pantries, display cases in jewellery or boutique retail, reception desks, bar fronts, restaurant booths and office feature walls — the LL9 fits them all. For the light source, pair it with LumenstarLED 24V tape such as the
2835 long run tape 10M 3000K, the cooler
2835 long run tape 10M 4000K, or the
2835 super long run tape 15M 2700K for very long architectural runs. Round out a full lighting plan with a recessed unit like the
4" slim recessed LED panel downlight 8W 3000K. The technical PDF (LS-LL9-L2 spec sheet) is in the Documentation tab with the full channel dimensions and strip compatibility chart — worth a look before you cut.
