Built as a system, not an afterthoughtThe LL8 Standard in its 2 metre (6.56') version is an aluminum mounting channel supplied with a frosted lens cover. Aluminum profiles do two jobs at once: they give the flexible tape a rigid, straight mounting surface and they act as a heat sink, drawing warmth away from the LEDs during long hours of operation. The frosted diffuser then does the optical work, blending the individual emitters into one continuous glow. That's the difference between an installation that reads as "a strip of LEDs" and one that reads as architectural light. Model code LS-LL8-L2, part of the LumenstarLED LL8 series built to consistent BOM (Bill of Materials) specifications so multiple pieces on the same job match.
Which LED strips fitThe compatibility chart for the LL8 lists
3528, 3528-OUT, 2835 and 2835-MP flexible strips — meaning indoor tapes, outdoor-rated 3528 and moisture-proof 2835 all seat in this channel. That covers a wide slice of the Lumenstar flexible line, including 12V DC and 24V DC single-colour tapes at 60, 72 and 120 LEDs per metre. Since the tape itself carries the electrical specifications (voltage, watts per metre, lumens per metre, CRI, colour temperature, dimming), choose your strip first, then cut and mount the LL8 to suit. A quick reminder from the strip guide: 3528 tapes are typically W8 x H1.5 mm and 2835 indoor tapes W10 x H1.5 mm, so check your tape width before ordering the channel.
Connectors and wiringOne of the strong points of the LL8 profile: the accessories guide marks it as compatible with
all solderless connectors, where several other channels in the range require a production lead or soldering. That means you can use the LS-SC1 straight connector, LS-SC2 lead, LS-SC3 jumper, LS-SC4 corner and LS-SC7 block in 3528, 3528-120 or 2835 versions, depending on the tape you selected. Strips run on low-voltage DC and need a matching Class 2 LED power supply (12V DC or 24V DC, sized to the total wattage of your run) plus a compatible dimmer where dimming is wanted. Keep runs within the manufacturer's stated maximum length per feed and plan your driver location before the channel goes up.
Where it earns its keepUnder kitchen cabinets and in toe-kicks, along cove ceilings in a living room or hotel corridor, inside retail shelving and display cases, above bathroom mirrors, on stair nosings, under bar counters, and in office reception coves where visual comfort matters. The 2 metre length is a practical segment: long enough for a full cabinet run or a wall niche, short enough to handle, transport and cut down on site. Straight runs can be daisy-chained end to end, and corners are handled with corner connectors between two lengths of channel. Pair it with a
24V 2835 long run LED tape in 4000K for workspaces, or a warmer
2835 super long run tape in 2700K for hospitality and residential accents. For task or downlight zones in the same room, the
4" slim recessed LED panel downlight 8W shares the same low-voltage approach.
DocumentationThe LS-LL8-L2 spec sheet is available in the Documentation tab of this page. It includes the flexible LED strip lighting guide with LED counts, voltages, lumens per metre, CRI, watts per metre, cut increments, LED types and tape dimensions, the solderless connector reference, the full aluminum channel compatibility table, and the LED power supply listing — everything you need to spec the complete system in one pass.
