Built from anodized aluminum for a reason
The LL10 profile is extruded from anodized aluminum, the material lighting pros reach for when a strip has to last. Beyond the crisp, uniform finish, the extrusion works as a heat sink: LED flexible tape mounted directly to drywall, wood or plastic traps its own heat, while an aluminum channel draws it away along the full length of the run. That's the single biggest reason an aluminum extrusion belongs on every serious LED strip lighting installation, not just the ones where looks matter.

Light quality and diffusion
A bare strip shows every diode, and in a kitchen or a display case those hot spots are the first thing the eye catches. Slipping the tape into the LL10 with a frosted or opaque lens blends the diodes into one continuous band of light. The slim 6 mm height keeps the profile subtle in a routed groove, and because the light exits through a single controlled aperture, you get a cleaner beam on the countertop, the stair nosing or the wall wash instead of glare bouncing everywhere.
Installation and compatibility
Route your groove to W15 x H6mm (W19/32 x H15/64") and the channel sits flush with the surface; alternatively, mount it on top of the substrate for a surface-mounted LED profile look. The extrusion cuts cleanly with standard metalworking tools, so odd cabinet widths and stair runs are no problem, and multiple 2M sections can be butted end to end for long continuous lines. Feed it with strips listed as compatible — Except, Indoor and MP Flex — and terminate with production lead or solder connections. End caps, mounting clips and diffuser covers are sold separately and complete the finished assembly. Always plan where the driver and the feed wire will exit before you cut the groove; that one step saves the most headaches on site.
Where it earns its keep, and what to download
Think under-cabinet task light in a kitchen reno, toe-kick and stair-tread lighting in a basement build, cove lighting in a living room ceiling, shelf lighting in a retail display, backlit reception desks in an office, and headboard or millwork accents in a hotel room. Contractors like that one part number covers both recessed and surface applications across a whole job.
