The 3528 SMD chip has been the workhorse of flexible LED tape for years, and for good reason: small emitters spaced closely together give a smooth, continuous line of light rather than a row of harsh points. With 60 LEDs per metre on a ribbon measuring only W8 x H1.5 mm (W5/16 x L1/16"), this tape disappears into the tightest reveals — cabinet undersides, cove ceilings, shelf edges, toe-kicks, stair stringers and millwork rabbets. The back is pre-applied with double-sided 3M tape, so a clean, degreased surface is all you need for a fast, secure mount, and the tape can be cut every 2" (50 mm) at the marked copper pads to fit the exact run you measured.

The tape is dimmable, letting you tune the level from full task light down to a soft night-time glow with a compatible 12V dimming setup. Feed longer installations from both ends or in multiple parallel runs back to the supply to keep brightness consistent, keep the ribbon straight (no sharp bends or twists over the emitters), and make sure connections and the driver stay accessible for service. 3528 solderless connectors are compatible, which makes corner jumps, gaps over sink cabinets and future repairs quick and tidy.
