Built for real commercial ceilingsThe RIGID 8" regressed down light is a one-piece fixture body — nothing to disassemble, nothing to rattle loose after a few years of HVAC cycles. It ships with everything needed to land it properly in a commercial plenum: the downlight itself, an
input power conduit lead with fitting for the junction box, a
safety cable to anchor to a structural point above the ceiling, and five wire nuts. Fold-up spring arms hold the trim tight against the ceiling panel, which is why it works so well in T-bar grid, drywall and existing 8" cans alike. Assembly takes about 5 minutes and requires no tools, so a crew can run a whole floor in a day.
Light quality without the glareThe regressed optic is the whole point: the LED board sits deep in the housing so the source stays out of direct sight lines, which matters in offices with screens, in retail change rooms and in long corridors where you look straight down the ceiling. With
5 selectable colour temperatures — 2700K soft white, 3000K warm white, 3500K neutral white, 4000K cool white and 5000K daylight — you can warm up a hotel corridor and cool down a back-of-house area using the same fixture, and match existing lighting on a phased renovation instead of guessing at a re-order. The
multi-wattage switch lets you tune output to the room: 24W, 27W, 30W or 34W, delivering 2400, 2700, 3000 or 3400 lumens.

Wiring, dimming and installation notesKill the power at the breaker or fuse first, remove the existing trim and lamp from the recessed housing, then open the access panel on the conduit junction box and confirm a knockout is free for the power connection. Run the conduit lead through the ceiling, attach the fitting to the junction box, anchor the safety cable above the plenum, and connect black to black, white to white, green to green or bare — if there is no ground supply wire, stop and call a qualified electrician. For
0-10V dimming, tie the purple and pink leads to the matching purple and pink wires of the building dimming system; for
TRIAC dimming, check the dimmer compatibility list; if you are not dimming, simply leave those leads unconnected. Set the CCT and wattage switches on the back of the housing before you push the fixture up — much easier than fishing it back out. Housings must meet the minimum lamp compartment dimensions of 5.51 in. diameter x 7.4 in. height. Not for use in emergency fixtures or exit signs, and not where exposed to weather or water. Clean with a mild non-abrasive glass cleaner on a soft cloth, power off, never spraying the fixture directly.
Applications, family and documentationThink open-plan offices and boardrooms, medical and dental clinics, condo and hotel corridors, school hallways, retail and grocery aisles, restaurants, banks, churches and high-end basements — all the places where a
commercial LED recessed downlight has to look discreet and hold up. Because the input accepts 120V through 347V, the same SKU covers a residential service and a 347V commercial panel, which simplifies ordering on mixed-use buildings. Need a different beam footprint on the same ceiling plan? The family includes the
Rigid 4" regressed down light, the
Rigid 6" regressed down light and the
Rigid 10" regressed down light, all with the same switches and controls. For ambient light in the same suspended grid, the
2x4 LED panel is a natural companion. The full
spec sheet and installation instructions are available in the Documentation tab — download it before you order so you can confirm the lamp compartment clearance.
