Give your surface disc light the finishing touch it deserves. The HS/VERS 12" matt black/gold canopy trim (SKU HS/VERS/12/MB/GD/CNP, ordering code 3660414) by TUROLIGHT is a decorative canopy trim — also called a surface mount ring, decorative bezel, trim ring or canopy kit — made for the 12" TUROLIGHT LED Surface Discus fixture of the RGD-HS/VERS family. Instead of a plain white disc on your ceiling, you get a deep matt black canopy with a warm gold inner reflector ring that turns a simple surface mount ceiling light into a real design piece. It is the go-to accessory when a client asks for a black ceiling fixture with brass or gold accents in a kitchen, a hallway, a boutique or a hotel lobby.

This trim is dimensionally made for the 12" model: M.O.D. 15.35" (maximum outside diameter) and M.O.H. 3.78" (maximum overall height), so it gives a taller, more sculptural canopy profile than the low-profile 0.75" and 1.39" trims of the same family. It pairs with the RGD-HS/VERS/12/24W/MK5/WH/D luminaire: 24 W, 120 V, 2000 initial lumens, 5 selectable colour temperatures (5CCT) set right on the fixture, CRI ≥80, a wide 120° beam angle, TRIAC dimming down to 5%, a 50,000-hour L70 rating, cETL listing, damp location rating and a 5-year limited warranty. The trim simply dresses the light you already chose — no rewiring, no new housing.

Because the Surface Discus fits all types of J-box, this canopy trim works beautifully in condo entryways, open-concept kitchens, bedrooms, corridors, covered porches and stairwells, as well as in salons, cafés, clinics and small retail spaces where black-and-gold hardware is the look. Canadian homeowners and contractors love it for renovations where a low ceiling rules out a pendant but the room still needs character. Choose the matching 12" fixture and trim in one shot, or compare the flatter HS/VERS 12" matt black/gold recessed trim, the all-black HS/VERS 12" matt black/matt black recessed trim or the lighter HS/VERS 12" matte white/gold canopy trim. Add it to your project and finish the ceiling the right way.

A decorative trim, not a light on its own
The HS/VERS/12/MB/GD/CNP is a decorative canopy trim from the TUROLIGHT RGD-HS/VERS LED Surface Discus family. The luminaire itself — the disc with the LED board and driver — is sold separately; this accessory snaps over it to change the look completely. The finish combines a matt black outer canopy with a gold inner ring, a combination that reads as brass under warm light and as champagne under a cooler setting. Because the light source, optics and electronics all stay in the fixture, the trim adds style without touching performance, certification or warranty.

Sizing and fit
Trim selection is all about diameter. This one is the 12" version, with a maximum outside diameter of 15.35" and a maximum overall height of 3.78", which means it overhangs and rises well beyond the 11.8" × 0.7" disc of the 12" fixture — that is exactly what gives the canopy its dome-like, semi-flush silhouette. Use it only with the 12" Surface Discus; the 5", 7" and 9" fixtures take their own trim sizes. The Surface Discus mounts to all types of J-box, so once the fixture is up and the trim is in place, nothing else is required at the ceiling.

The fixture it dresses
Paired with the 12" LED Surface Discus (RGD-HS/VERS/12/24W/MK5/WH/D), you get 24 W at 120 V producing 2000 initial lumens, with 5 selectable colour temperatures chosen on the fixture, CRI ≥80 for honest skin tones and true finishes, and a 120° beam angle that spreads light evenly across a room instead of punching a hot spot into the floor. The fixture is TRIAC dimmable down to 5%, damp location rated, cETL listed, rated L70 at 50,000 hours, built with a PC housing, and covered by a 5-year limited warranty with an operating temperature range of -10 ˚C to +45 ˚C. That damp rating matters in Canada: covered porches, three-season rooms and bathrooms all qualify.

Applications, alternatives and documentation
Think black-and-gold kitchens and powder rooms, condo hallways, boutique change rooms, café ceilings, clinic waiting areas and Airbnb bedrooms — anywhere a surface mount ceiling light needs to look intentional. Contractors often mix finishes in one project: the same 12" fixture can wear the HS/VERS 12" brush nickel trim, the HS/VERS 12" matt black trim, the HS/VERS 12" matte white/gold recessed trim or the HS/VERS 12" matte white/matte white cylindrical trim, so you can keep one fixture on the order and vary the look room by room. The technical spec sheet is available in the Documentation tab with the full ordering guide, the dimensional drawing and every trim option of the family — worth a look before you finalize quantities.
