The housing for STW1 wall washer strip
A wall washer is designed to spread light smoothly across a vertical surface, bringing out texture and colour and making a space feel larger and brighter. To deliver that effect, the light source needs to be straight, stable and correctly aimed. The CANOLIGHT CL-STW1-ALU aluminum profile is the dedicated housing for the STW1 wall washer strip light, holding it in a rigid channel so the wash stays consistent from one end of the run to the other.
Construction
The profile is made of aluminum and supplied in 1 metre lengths. Aluminum is light, stiff and easy to work with: cut it with a fine-tooth blade suited to non-ferrous metal, deburr the edges with a file and it is ready to install. Continuous lengths can be aligned end to end to follow long walls, façades or corridors, creating a clean, uninterrupted line. Planning and installation
Decide first which surface you want to wash and where the light should start: at the base of the wall grazing upward, at the ceiling line washing downward, or along a ledge or soffit. Measure the full length of the run and mark the mounting line with a level or laser. Fasten each length securely to a sound substrate with hardware suited to the material, keeping adjoining pieces perfectly aligned, then install the STW1 strip in the channel. Follow the strip's installation instructions for power and connections, and have all electrical work, including the driver, completed according to local code by a qualified electrician.

Wall washing brings out the best in natural stone, brick, wood slats, textured plaster and artwork walls. Use this LED aluminum profile with the STW1 strip to light hotel lobbies and corridors, restaurant and bar feature walls, retail back walls behind merchandise, office reception areas, church and museum interiors, and building façades.
