What this accessory does
The 1/2' Knuckle Mount 20W- 80W for Flood Light is a mounting component, not a luminaire. Its job is to carry an LED flood light, hold it at the angle you choose, and transfer the load safely into the wall, pole bracket, conduit or structural surface behind it. The knuckle itself is a pivoting joint: loosen it, rotate the fixture through its aiming range, then tighten it back down so the beam stays locked where you set it. Installers often call this style of bracket a knuckle bracket or group it with trunnion mount and slipfitter mount led flood lights hardware when they're speccing accessories for an exterior lighting package.
Sizing and compatibility
The defining number here is the 1/2 inch thread, matched to LED flood lights in the 20W to 80W range. That window is important: it tells you the knuckle is engineered for the small and mid-size flood light bodies typically installed on houses, garages, small warehouses, storefronts and light industrial buildings, rather than for the large high-wattage area fixtures that need heavier hardware. Before ordering, confirm that the flood light you're pairing it with uses a 1/2 inch mounting thread and falls inside that wattage range — if it does, this bracket is the right companion piece. Because this is an accessory, the electrical characteristics (voltage, lumens, colour temperature, dimming) all come from the flood light you attach to it, not from the mount.
Installation notes
Plan the mounting surface first. Anchor into solid material — stud, block, concrete or a structural steel member — using fasteners suited to that substrate, and make sure the surface is flat enough that the base sits fully seated rather than rocking on a high spot. Run your supply through the appropriate weatherproof method for an exterior location and keep a drip loop on the fixture whip so water tracks away from the connection instead of into it. Aim the flood light with the power on and someone watching the beam from ground level; it takes two minutes and prevents the classic mistake of lighting the sky instead of the pavement. Then torque the knuckle down firmly so wind and vibration can't creep the aim over time.
Where it earns its keep
Think driveways and side yards on a home renovation, a back-alley door on a restaurant, the perimeter of a self-storage site, a contractor's equipment yard, a dealership lot, a barn or a rural shop. Multi-unit residential buildings use them over entrances and garbage enclosures. Anywhere a security or task beam has to be pushed in a specific direction — down a wall, across a walkway, into a parking bay — an adjustable flood light mount beats a fixed bracket. Canadian sites add their own demands: snow, ice, road salt, wind and big temperature swings, which is why a properly tightened, properly anchored mount is worth the extra minute on installation day.
Documentation
The technical PDF for this reference, FICHE TECHNIQUE ZZFLKCRZ, is available in the Documentation tab of this page for your submittal package or project file. It carries the manufacturer data sheet for SPECLITE SKU ZZFLkCRZ, including the UPC 882110008783.
