Built for real retrofit jobsThe VIVID PL HYBRID was designed around the one thing that slows down a
PL lamp retrofit: the fixture you already own. Instead of a rigid stick that fights the reflector, this lamp uses an
extendable lamp body with a
90° rotatable base and a lamp head that adjusts
90°, so the light engine can be positioned precisely in shallow cans, wall sconces, vanity boxes and corridor luminaires. That is the meaning of the DUO suffix in the code: dual orientation, horizontal and vertical mounting, one part number instead of two on your shelf.
Hybrid wiring: ballast-compatible or ballast bypassThe HY wiring configuration supports both
Type A operation (running on the existing ballast — refer to the ballast compatibility list) and
Type B operation (
ballast bypass, wired to line voltage). Type A is the fastest route for occupied buildings: twist out the CFL, twist in the LED, done. Type B removes the ballast from the circuit entirely, which is what most contractors prefer when a ballast is near end of life or when a building is being re-lamped once and for good. The lamp accepts
120-277V, so the same SKU covers residential 120V panels and commercial 277V lighting circuits.
Light quality and outputAt
9W the lamp produces
1100 lumens through a
120° beam angle, a wide distribution that fills corridors and washrooms without hot spots. The
5CCT selector gives five colour temperatures (27/30/35/40/50) so you can match warm residential spaces or cooler commercial and back-of-house areas from the same box, and
80 CRI renders finishes, uniforms and product displays cleanly. This model is not dimmable, so pair it with standard on/off or occupancy-sensor control rather than a dimmer.

Applications, compatibility and documentationThink condo and apartment corridors, stairwells and garages, hotel hallways, school washrooms, clinic and dental waiting rooms, retail fitting rooms, church vestibules and the recessed
pot lights in older Canadian homes — every one of them full of 4-pin
G24q sockets that cost time and money to re-lamp. The damp location listing and the -20°C to +40°C range also suit covered entries, unheated vestibules and parking structures. Anything with a G24q socket is a candidate; lamps with two-pin bases or other pin configurations are not. The full
spec sheet with the dimensional drawing and the ordering guide is in the Documentation tab of this page. If you are re-lamping a whole building, the same Vivid family covers your other sockets: the
LED bulb GU10 6.5W 4000K, the
LED bulb G4 2.5W 4000K and the
Vivid glass lens PAR20 dim-to-warm.
