Built to protect the connectionA splice is only as reliable as what surrounds it. The
metal junction box LCJUNCBOX-14X5X3 gives conductors a rigid, enclosed space where connectors stay put, stay clean and stay reachable. The steel body resists impact during rough-in — when drywall sheets, ladders and ductwork are moving through the same ceiling — and it contains heat far better than lighter materials, which genuinely matters when the box is sitting beside a working
LED driver. Pre-formed
knockouts let you land standard connectors and
flexible metal connectors without drilling or improvising, so every cable entry is deliberate and properly supported.
Sized for hardwired transformersThis is not a generic small square box. At
14.9" x 5.3" x 3.2", it is dimensioned to house
200W and 350W hardwired transformers together with their line-side and load-side conductors. That extra volume is what lets you leave a comfortable service loop inside instead of pulling wires tight — the difference between a five-minute troubleshooting visit and an hour of cutting and re-splicing three years from now. The long, shallow profile also slips nicely into joist bays, above T-bar ceilings and along the top of cabinetry where depth is limited.
Technical specificationsProduct no.: LCJUNCBOX-14X5X3

Installation and compatibilityMount the box on a solid surface — joist, stud, strut or wall — before landing any conductors, and always keep it accessible rather than sealing it permanently behind finished drywall; an access panel or a lay-in ceiling tile is the right answer. Bring the AC feed in through one knockout and the low-voltage output through another so line and
low-voltage wiring stay organized, use proper strain relief at every entry, and leave extra conductor length coiled inside. The box works with hardwired
LED drivers and power supplies in the 200W and 350W range, and it suits the secondary side of
LED strip light, cove, cabinet and linear lighting runs. All work should be completed by a qualified electrician following local electrical code.
Where it goes to work — and what else to look atHomeowners use it in basement renovations and kitchen retrofits where under-cabinet LED tape needs a hidden but serviceable driver. Contractors drop it above suspended ceilings in offices, clinics and retail fit-ups, or fasten it in mechanical rooms, garages, warehouses and service corridors where a metal enclosure simply lasts longer. For an exposed or outdoor run, the
waterproof outdoor junction box IP68 is the right tool; for smaller interior splices, compare the
rigid PVC junction box LCJUNCBOX-PVC-552 and the
rigid PVC junction box LCJUNCBOX-PVC-12124. The technical PDF spec sheet is available in the Documentation tab for dimensions and planning.
