A step light that disappears into the wall
The #900 is a recessed step and wall light designed for a clean, flush-to-wall look with no visible hardware. It lights the floor or the stair tread below with balanced, shadow-free illumination and minimal glare, exactly what you want where people walk. The enamel-coated white finish on aluminum suits white and pale walls, and because the fixture can be painted to match the surface, it also blends into coloured walls and feature walls.
Light quality and efficiency
The integrated LED consumes only 3.3 W and produces 72 lumens, the right amount of light to mark steps and paths without dazzling anyone. The 3000K warm white creates a welcoming, residential feel, and the high CRI of 90 keeps floors, rugs and finishes looking natural. The fixture dims from 100% to 10% with an ELV-type dimmer, so you can keep it bright during the evening and turn it down to a soft night-light level later on. With a rated life of 50,000 hours, it will keep your stairs lit for a long time.
Installation and electrical details
This is a 120 VAC line-voltage fixture (50/60 Hz): it mounts into a standard 2" x 4" electrical box with minimum inside dimensions of 3" long x 2" wide x 2" deep, so plan the boxes at the right height before closing the walls. Up to 200 fixtures can be connected in parallel, handy for long corridors, stairwells and commercial projects. The die-cast, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy construction, the ETL and cETL listing and the damp location listing make it suitable for bathrooms, entrances and covered outdoor areas, within an operating range of -20°C to 40°C (-4°F to 104°F). As always, have a qualified electrician make the connections according to local code.

Where it works best
Place one on every second or third step of an interior staircase, line a basement stairwell or a long hallway, light the landing outside a bedroom as a gentle night light, or mark the entrance of a home, a condo corridor or a restaurant. Because it is damp location listed, it also works near a bathroom vanity, in a mudroom or under a covered porch, adding safe stair lighting wherever people walk after dark.
