A tiny controller that does the thinkingThe DL-EC2/LV6SA/CONTROLLER is a compact microwave sensor that combines occupancy sensing with an integrated photocell in one low-profile package. Instead of wiring a separate line-voltage motion detector and a separate photocell, you get both functions in a single
low voltage sensor controller that talks directly to your LED driver. Because it supports ultra-low-profile luminaires, it fits where a bulky sensor simply cannot go — inside slim linear fixtures, shallow housings and purpose-built OEM assemblies. For lighting manufacturers and fixture builders, it means sensor-equipped products with minimal engineering effort and a lower overall system cost.
Electrical and installation detailsThe unit operates on
12V DC, which can be supplied directly by the LED driver, and it is designed to work with
0–10V dim-to-off LED drivers — that dim-to-off capability is what lets the controller take the light all the way down instead of only dimming it. Input current is 40mA, standby power stays under 0.8W and the sink current is approximately 10mA. Detection reaches up to 45ft at a maximum mounting height of 20ft, with a suggested mounting height of 15 to 20ft in a ceiling-mount position. Keep it in dry indoor locations: the
IP20 rating is not made for wet or outdoor exposure, though the 22°F to 131°F (~30°C – 55°C) operating range handles cold garages and warm mechanical rooms alike.
Four operating modes, set from the remoteMultiple operating modes are selected with the
RM51 IR remote controller, so you can tune each fixture to the space it serves. In A Mode, the light stays off while ambient light is above the photocell threshold, goes to full-on (100% trim level) when ambient light drops below the threshold and occupancy is detected, then dims to the standby level after the 30 min hold time and holds that level until dawn. B Mode behaves the same but turns the light off if no occupancy is detected within another 1/2 TIME. C Mode disables the ambient light sensor entirely for pure
occupancy control: full-on when motion is detected, standby dim after the 30 min delay, off after another 1/2 TIME. D Mode holds the light at 50% trim level when it is dark and occupancy is detected, and turns it off after 30 mins with no occupancy. In photocell mode a lux threshold can be set so the light comes on automatically when ambient light falls below it and goes off when it rises above.

Applications, compatibility and documentationThink of warehouse and shop aisles under
LED high bay fixtures, parking garages, stairwells, corridors, storage rooms, workshops and garages in a renovated home — spaces where lights are either forgotten on all evening or switched on and off a hundred times a day. The dusk-to-dawn function keeps an entry or loading area lit overnight at the standby level even when nothing moves, which is exactly what security-minded Canadian building owners ask for. It belongs to the same EC2 family as the
Deltalum EC2 microwave sensor for 12V DC Lovo LED strip, a natural companion for 12V DC LED strip projects.
