What this trim is and what it doesA recessed fixture is really two parts: the housing hidden above the ceiling and the trim you actually see. The
LCTRIM-4-R-CH is the second half — a round, adjustable
PAR20 trim that covers the ceiling cut-out, holds the lamp securely and gives the opening a crisp, finished edge. The adjustable (gimbal-style) design lets you tilt the lamp after installation, which is exactly what you need when a wall of art, a kitchen island or a merchandising shelf sits off-centre from the ceiling grid. Because the trim and the lamp are separate, you keep full freedom over beam angle, brightness and light colour, and you can change any of them later without opening the ceiling again.
Light quality you choose yourselfThis part does not include a light source, and that is a feature, not a limitation. Select the
PAR20 LED lamp that matches the room: a tighter beam for accenting a fireplace or a display case, a wider flood for general room lighting. LED PAR20 lamps draw a fraction of the energy of the halogen lamps they replace — commonly up to 80% less — while giving you the same punchy accent light without the heat. If you want smooth, flicker-free
dimming, simply choose a dimmable lamp and a compatible dimmer; the trim itself never limits your options. Keeping the same lamp model across a room is the easiest way to avoid mismatched colour from one
pot light to the next.
Technical specificationsSKU / Model: LCTRIM-4-R-CH
Product type: Recessed ceiling housing trim
Lamp type: PAR20 (sold separately)
Shape: Round
Adjustability: Adjustable / tiltable lamp holder
Application: Residential and commercial projects
Installation and compatibilityInstallation is straightforward and usually tool-light: cut the power at the panel, fit the trim into the matching 4-inch recessed
housing, secure it with the retention springs or clips, insert your PAR20 lamp, then restore power and aim each head. On a renovation, this is the fastest visual upgrade there is — yellowed or dented trims come out, fresh ones go in, and the existing housings and wiring stay untouched. Plan your aiming before you tighten everything: in a hallway, angling each head slightly toward the same wall creates an even scallop pattern; over a counter, keeping the heads straight down avoids glare in the eyes of anyone working there. This trim belongs to the same family as the square version, the
PAR20 adjustable square trim in chrome and the
PAR20 adjustable square trim in black, so you can mix shapes while keeping one consistent finish through a project.
Where it works bestThink kitchens and open-concept living rooms, basements with limited ceiling height, bedrooms, staircases and hallways, but also offices, clinic waiting rooms, boutiques, restaurants and small showrooms where
commercial LED ceiling lights need to look tidy from below. For bathrooms and enclosed showers, choose a shower-rated version instead, such as the
PAR20 round shower trim in brushed steel. No spec sheet, IES file or installation video is currently posted in the Documentation tab for this item; if any documentation becomes available, you will find it there. In the meantime, match the trim to your housing size and your PAR20 lamp, and you are set.
