Why choose a black puck light
A black housing is the secret to hidden lighting in dark millwork: against charcoal, espresso or black-stained cabinets the RD15 blends in, so the eye goes to what is lit rather than to the fixture. On pale oak or a white wall it does the opposite and becomes a crisp graphic accent, perfect for Scandinavian or industrial interiors. Either way, the box holds a complete LED puck light, the bezel that matches it for surface mounting, plus a lead wire of 36 in (90 cm).
Inside the slim aluminum shell
The RD15 is built for strength with an all-metal, ultra-thin aluminum housing and power LED technology. Three 1 W power LEDs share the 3 W load and produce 290 lumens through a 120° beam, so the light covers a whole shelf instead of forming a narrow spot. The 3000K warm white colour gives a welcoming, residential feel, and with a CRI above 85 the amber of a whisky, vinyl record sleeves and painted figurines come through faithfully. RoHS compliant and rated for over 60,000 hours, it delivers years of evenings before you need to think about it again.
Installing in dark cabinetry or furniture
Fix it on the surface with the bezel for a fast retrofit under existing cabinets, or recess it flush in a hole measuring Ø 2-1/2 in (63.5 mm) for a built-in look in new millwork, shelving or a display case. Because it is a 12V DC fixture, each puck is wired to a 12 V DC power supply, never straight to a household circuit. Size the supply by totalling the wattage of all the pucks on the circuit plus 10%, as the buying guide explains, and choose a dimmable model if you want dimmable puck lights with adjustable brightness.

Think of a coffee bar with black open shelving, a home theatre media wall, a sneaker display, a whisky cabinet, a collection of model cars, or a shop counter where retail display lighting makes products pop while the fixtures stay discreet.
